rkheinefield@bellsouth.net Report post Posted January 5, 2012 Does anyone have experience with using a powered HDMI splitter to provide the HDMI output from a Sony AV receiver to two HD TVs?
Guest Wayne77590 Report post Posted January 6, 2012 In my stick house only. I have a four way HDMI Splitter that is controlled by remote control. A search of the web should reveal some newer models. Mine has two inputs and 4 outputs. It is just called a 4-2 HDMI Matrix Switch. No other identifying information is on it. Works well.
rkheinefield@bellsouth.net Report post Posted January 9, 2012 This sounds like a switch that allow you to select the input into a display or playback device, such as attaching both a Blueray player and game console to the device and then selecting which is output. Guest Wayne77590 Report post Posted January 9, 2012 I did not thouroughly read your original post. You are correct, it is a "powered switch" I'll search for some alternatives for you. Sorry! Got confused when my mind started thinking. Would something like this be what you are looking for? HDMI Splitter/switch You can always add an HDMI Amplifier for around $20. A Google search on HDMI Splitters came up with a lot of hits. Happy trails.
rkheinefield@bellsouth.net Report post Posted January 10, 2012 I have found a lot of splitter as well. Ranging from under 20 dollars to close to a hundred. Not really sure what the difference is between them. I have tried using one from SewellDirect, but had issues getting it to work with the Sony equipment I have. I have contact them and they are sending me a replacement unit but still not sure it will do the trick. I do appreciate your help and if you find any documentation on using splitters with Sony equipment I would love to see it. Again, thank you
