akadeadeye Report post Posted May 4, 2012 Does anyone have an opinion about using Sodium Dichlor instead of household bleach? I read the article below which is referenced on this forum that said it is just as, or maybe more, effective than bleach. It is highly concentrated so you use one teaspoonful for a 100 gallon tank. http://rvbasics.com/techtips/sanitizing-your-rv-fresh-water-system.html Don
QuiGonJohn Report post Posted May 5, 2012 I just tried it before my trip last weekend. Seemed good. Just got this RV and the first time I sanitized. I had some odor in the water. After flushing the tank, is was good, especially the hot water heater tank--the odor was gone. I added a smidgen in when I put fresh water back in the tank at the end, as well. akadeadeye Report post Posted May 5, 2012 So, you used Sodium Dichlor? Or did you use bleach? Don
Guest BillAdams Report post Posted May 5, 2012 Use 1 tablespoon of Clorox® Regular-Bleach per gallon of water. Nothing special needed. Do the mixture, flush through all water lines, let stand, drain all lines, flush with clean water, done!
