4trebor2 Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Monaco 2001 Knight dash air problems. Has anyone replaced the compressed air powered vacuum generator with an electric vacuum generator? If so which one did you purchase....I was told that a Ford product works for this.....My original equipment vacuum generator does not work consistently. I have checked for vacuum leaks and the fact that it works some if not most of the time leads me to believe that there are not any vacuum leaks. For unexplained reasons it will quit and of course default to the defroster which is what it is suppose to do.....I have replaced the original equipment vacuum generator once already and am looking for an alternative. Also if anyone knows, what are the two wires that are attached to the original equipment vacuum generator purpose? Thank you, Bobbco Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
wolfe10 Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Bobbco, Yes, Ford and others have 12 VDC vacuum pumps. Should be able to fine one in any wrecking yard, as all diesels have some form of vacuum pump to "power" the dash HVAC system. You might contact Monaco to determine what the wires to the pump are-- if it is air vs 12 VDC powered, I don't know. Brett Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
