JulieAndy Report post Posted June 24, 2014 I have a CAT 3126 and the code "wait to start" displays on the dash. Minutes later it turns on the engine heater, which is a problem because I live in Puerto Rico- and dont need the heater on. I changed the sensors and still have the problem. Don't know if you can reach the Caterpillar hotline from PR, but if you can, call them with your engine serial number: 877 777-3126. The intake manifold heater should come on below a certain temperature and continue to stay on/cycle until a warmer temperature is reached. Caterpillar should be able to tell you the maximum temperature at which it should come on on cold start and also the temperature at which it should not cycle on once started.
