Help Inspecting A1983 Bluebird Near San Antonio

We will finalize inspection of a 1983 Bluebird in Spring Branch TX, (between Blanco and San Antonio) later this week (maybe Friday, Jan 16, 2015) . It is a vintage Bird owned for 30 yrs by first owner, very original inside, rebuilt engine 10,000 miles ago. Has the Blue Box full of documentation including blueprints. Dealer warrants to demonstrate all major system working before purchase. We have had a Class A before but not a Bird. We are looking for a vintage type Bird we can use for many years and we value originality. Have already done a 1-hour look over and all looks acceptable. If any Bird owners can offer advice, we welcome it. If any Bird owners are nearby and available to help inspect, what a bonus that would be !! The major issue with older buses is rust. I don't own a Bluebird but have built several buses into motorhomes. Be sure to look underneath and behind any panels for rust signs. This includes the baggage compartments, battery compartments, inside the motor doors is another inspection point.

The old buses are great and pretty easy to maintain, good luck with your endeavors.
