tphome1996 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 I have a 2012 Ford Chassis with a 2014 Tiffin Open Road 36l. My problem is that the engine will start cold but will not restart without a cool down period that lasts from 15 minutes to as long as 75 minutes. I had the same problem in June and the "solution was to replace the starter. The problem went away (we were in Alaska). When we got back to hot California the problem has returned. The Ford dealer in Yuma could not find a problem. It happens every time we run the engine so I have to keep it running while getting gas, eating lunch, or until we are set in camp. I see some running problems can relate to a ignition starter /solenoid. Can this be the problem? Ll Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
wolfe10 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 TPhome1996, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. If the ignition solenoid/relay is bad, nothing will work that normally works with the ignition on. Easy one to check is to turn on the dash HVAC fan. If it works, the ignition solenoid/relay is not the problem. Please tell us if the engine turns over? Slowly or normal speed?
