This post is right on, there are posts all over the RV forums about Michelins and cracked sidewalls.  I got rid of my Michelins at five and a half years, 30k, with plenty of tread left, for that reason.  Michelin even goes so far as to post a series of pictures of cracked side walls, trying to convince us some cracks are okay.  They can say what they want, but nobody in our group is going to take off on a long trip with cracked tires.  No more Michelins for me.

donjlong, hope you have better luck than I did.

Huh, I said that about Good Year 8 years ago.

    Ron, I have a reservation at http://www.autumnwoodsrvpark.com/index.php

I had a little difficulty getting hold of someone, had to leave 2 phone messages. I don't make online reservations after a bad experience many years ago. The woman who returned my call said they normally have several Mayo Clinic patients staying there, and have a liberal policy for extending their stay. I'll be able to speak from experience by July 20.

Thanks for your reply. That is the one I was leaning to. I hope the best for your wife. many more happy trails

  3. I have been using I-Pass in Illinois for years and as stated above, you can list all your vehicles and move it from one to the other and you will be charged for the corresponding rate. I have had a semi, 2 motorhomes, various cars and I even add my granddaughter's car when she comes home from Florida so she won't have to pay the higher fees. Using the I-Pass in Illinois will be a cheaper rate than paying at the booth and most on/off ramps are no longer staffed with a human. It also works in all the same places as EZ-Pass. You can access your account online and change the amount of the automatic debit as often as you like. When I was running a semi, I had it set for $100 debit and a low threshold of $20, but now I have it set at lower rates as I don't use it much. It is a $10 cost in the beginning plus setting up the account and when you return it, you get your $10 back. Can be bought at any Jewel-Osco in Illinois or at any service center on the toll road. You can also order them online. As long as it is still good in all EZ-Pass locations, I will keep it.

How does the I-Pass work with towing your car?

  4. My (and likely most) extend-a-stay installation has the gadget installed between the manual turn off valve and the regulator. The regulator is shifted slightly and reattached to make room.

    Good Luck.

Rocky is right.. The Shut off valve/Regulator are located behind a cover in the basement. I had to slide the sliding shelf out to make room for me to crawl in to attach the "Stay a while". A pain of a place to locate the valve.

  5. Late afternoon will give you no really good choices. You are going to have to fight your way to either 294 or 355. The only really good time to go through Chicago is late morning to early afternoon or the middle of the night. I planned my trips as a trucker with that in mind.. Make sure that you have an adequate balance on your EZ Pass account. You will be running toll roads from where you exit I-80 to head north all of the way to the Wisconsin line. EZ Pass does help at the toll plazas. The folks that pay cash will be backed up while you roll through.

Do you have to have a EZ pass sticker on both the coach and the toad?

    thanks,

    Ron

  6. For a nice scenic drive go up 69 to I-40 East to I-540. Take I-540 North out of Alma (just out of Ft. Smith). Go north through Fayetteville and Springdale. Its been a long time since I drove from Springdale to 65 on 412 but I remember it was a good road with a lot of small towns.

    Enjoy Arkansas and Branson

Thanks, Herman I'm looking forward to it.

    Ron
