  1. I Just got it. only used it in my car so far. Its sure different from the Garmin guys. I think the learning curve is a little steep. I wouldn't use it in a car/pickup as its quite large. It should be good in the motor home. BUT I think once I get it all figured out it will be nice. It was easier then the Garmin to load poi's into it. I'll need more time to see if I will keep it or not.

  2. Ron,

Yes, I am using it right now! No changes. Compared with signal strength to other boosters in the same RV park, this one tops the list.

As others have posted, if you are an electronics guru, you can probably piece together a systems for less. But, if you want a complete system that anyone can install in minutes and use, I still put this one at the top.

    Thanks Brett,

I think I'm going to order it now. I wonder if one could as easily install it onto the Wingman annenna on top of the coach. That way it would be high up and would lay down when on the road. Then run the wires into the coach through the roof with the rubber radio anntenna, into the cabinet above the windshield for a wireless router.

    Havea good day,

    Ron

  3. Mark Community Read is at the lower left -- you have to scroll down to see it. Mark this forum as read should be near top right. See these screen shots ...

The "mark community read" at the bottom started working as it should. After I installed Flash.

The at the top right shows "go to first unread" only.

  4. We want to got to Iowa this summer/fall. I have a 40 foot motorhome . There doesn't seem to be many/any campgrounds that I'd fit in. Would like to go around the Ft Dodge/Webster city area and up to the Mn. border areas. Along I-35. and then west.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks,

    Ron

  5. Our refrigerator was upgraded in the recall campaign. It worked fine on both LP and AC on a weekend trip. After returning home, we emptied the box and parked it for 2 weeks. Yesterday I plugged the coach in to charge the batteries and cool the refrig and now it won't turn on at all.

No fail codes on the refrig display, there is AC power at the plug in the access bay, and the red LED is lit on the High-Temp Cutoff Module that is part of the recall.

    Any similar experience/remedies?

Yup. I had mine done and it lasted about 3 weeks then died, same as yours. They (the service techs) ordered a new one and replaced it at no cost to me. That’s been about a month and a half now-- seems to have fixed it this time.

    Good luck,

    Ron

  6. Oh, a note about the View New Content link, which can be found near the top-right of the page: View New Content reveals a list of threads/topics containing posts that you have not yet read. Click a topic and it should take you directly to the first unread post within that topic.

Now that, I really like.

  7. Don,

Before you left the dealers service lot, did you check to see that everything was running?

I did, and I had an error code. I went back in and told them, from some reading I had done, that they put the wires on backwards. The tech smiled, but went outside, made a statement that it's not problem to switch the wires - he did - the unit started working. The silly smile went away and he thanked me.

    Just a thought.

Wayne, Thanks for your thought. The unit ran fine for 13 days the quit. II was in Tucson when I was able to get a tech to come to me. He diagnoses was the the "new" thermocoupler that was installed was defective. Called Norcold they agreed but said they were on back-order till later this year. Well the Tech had mercy on me as I couldn't wait in Tucson til then and I had to move on, He unwired the device and the refer works. We are now in San Diego and fixin' to leave for LA in a couple of days. Problem is, we can't be assured of when the part could arrive anywhere. So don't want anyone to order it til we're sure of its status to arrive anywhere. Will probably wait til we get home. Just don't use the refer on propane.

  8. I just had the recall done Nov 12, 2010. I left on a trip on the 15th. Now, today, the 25th, the refer stopped with code "L1 oP". The Operators manual says no user fix take it to a tech.. So I assume that I'm screwed. I sure hope Camping World will have the parts to get me up and running again. and under warranty. this unit is only 2 years old.

    Don,

It was in my post. see above.

I'm now wondering how the guys that are installing residential refers are going to hold up to the ride down the road. sighhh. to go on with my trip or go home, that is the thoughts...We ARE about half way to our destination.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
