Carl....did you get your slide fixed? -
Carl, you mentioned there is no brake. Is there a black rubber boot partially covering the motor? If so, there is an elongated piece of the covering and that is the lever for the brake. Move it and that releases the motor so you can manually push it in, if needed of course.

Not that you know I can be bribed, lets start negotiating the price. Seriously, I'm a phone call away and can most definitely hold the switch while y'all push. 😎

Yep...happy labor day and safe travels to all. -
I've never had hydraulic slides so I'm not going to be much help.
-
75% of those passing you at 62 mph will be passing you at 65-70 mph. What are you towing with?
-
I looked at one towing guide and it indicated no limit to distance but limited speed to 65MPH.
-
What does the owners manual say? If you don't have the manual, you should be able to Google it.
-
Is there a limiter (limit switch)? Do you have someone (s) that can push while holding the switch?
-
Is this hydraulic or the electric? Did you check fluid level?
-
Sounds like more of an adventure than a story.

On a recent trip to New Mexico I was averaging 7.5 mpg driving 62-63 mph, 1600 rpm's; I increased my speed to 70 mph, 1800rpms and my mileage went up to 8 mpg. 400 hp Cummins ISL with about 9000 miles on it. I use Shell Rotella which helps pay for a few minutes per year of Mikes salary.
-
So your fuel mileage went down and thats good? What part of getting worse fuel mileage is good?
-
"What is the difference?" Difference compared to what? You need to drive one and hopefully it will be a really windy day.

I agree, call this number and ask how many hours labor and cost of the part. Have your VIN ready. Freightliner Service and Training Center, Gaffney, SC. (855) 253-0421 If you're a member of FCOC, you will receive a 10% discount at most shops.- 45 replies

I had the Horton fan clutch replaced on my previous Cummins ISB while at the Freightliner Service Center in Gaffney. They did the one year maintenance, replaced the shocks and replaced the fan clutch all in an 8 hour day. They did not remove the CAC and radiator to change the fan clutch.- 45 replies

That photo is unbelievable. Both the intake manifold and coolant temp had to be almost pegging the gages.- 45 replies

I agree, a heads up would be very beneficial to members. Like Richard said, with all the cyber attacks going on it concerns me when I see pop ups like we had yesterday. Thanks, Larry, I appreciate the information as to why we were seeing this pop up.

I have a different opinion, Amazon is a great reference for reviews of the product. I'm not suggesting purchasing from Amazon but I do check reviews on items I'm interested in purchasing. I recently visited with the owner of Tweetys.com and he said they have less returns and /or complaints with the TST System than others, for whatever thats worth.

If the engine is equipped with the Horton fan clutch, this is a true symptom of a bad clutch.- 45 replies
