  2. Thanks for the quick responses. Your suggestions help tremendously by waking up my brain to look at the overall picture of performance and not just how pretty the Coach looks while driving down the road. I get about 8.5 w/o generator running and about 7.5 with generator. It's hard to get accurate fuel consumption since generator fuel feeds from main tank. Power is definately an issue as we have driven uphill cheahah mountain at about 14mph at times without towing. I hope others will continue to give us comments.
  3. We currently own a 1992 Holiday Rambler Imperial 33ft, 460 Ford, and absolutely love it. We "believe" we need more room to accommodate our 4 legged kids since we do not have slides. We are now looking at a 2007 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 36D with a Gas Engine. It has a Work Horse Chassis, which I have read some negative comments. This will probably be our last purchase for many years, therefore we want to make a sound decision. Any one know of Work Horse issues that could help/hurt our decision to purchase this vehicle? We live in Florida and mostly drive straight and flat. Also, we would welcome other comments about this Fleetwood and other comments/suggestions about other Coaches that would be a good investment for our travels and comfort. Although we will probably tow a vehicle, we will probably stay with Gas. We appreciate all of your ideas, suggestions and comments.

  5. Motor Home Net weight is 14,882. Max GVWR is 18,000. Max GCWR is 25,000. Range Rover is about 6,000. This is pushing the limit, but would be used on "straight and level" only. Will not be driving up hills of any substantial grade, nor will I tow for more than 300 miles. I will have to have CAT scales weigh both vehicles before making decision on whether to tow any vehicle or locally only. Motorhome is 20 years old. No slides, but still a nice, comfortable vehicle.
  6. I have a 2001 Range Rover. I have never towed anything with my 1992 Holiday Rambler Imperial (460 cid), but we believe it may be something that we might need to do. The 2001 Range Rover manual that came with the vehicle states that it can be towed if the listed 7 steps (for towing 4 wheels down) are completed prior to towing. I called the the manufacturer and they stated that the vehicle should not be towed because the transmission will be damaged. Now I don't know who or what to believe. Have any of you towed this year and model? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

    BatteryMINDer

    I use two BatteryMinders. I permanently mounted a BatteryMinder for the Starter Battery. Whenever the Generator runs or when connected to Shore Power, the BatteryMinder keeps a charge to my Starter Battery. Until I did this, I was constantly having to charge my battery because of a Phantom discharge that I could not find. I also have one for the House Batteries. Been using these for over a year without incident.
  8. Briarhopper: All tires look good with no wear differences between each other. I appreciate your time explaining to me the dynamics of tires and axles. I will attempt to process this in my basic brain. I have wanted to get these numbers figured out for a long time now and you have helped me quite well. I will also be calling the Florida DOT and find out if they offer individual Tire/Axle weighing. Allegiance40x: Didn't even think of calling them because of the age of my Coach. I will call and get information from HR and Ford. I will post when I get more infomation. Thanks again...
  9. Coach purchased mid 2009. New tires November 2009 and tires are dated 3209, 3309, and 3509. Chassis Manual indicates: GVWR 17000 GCW 25000 Front 6000 Rear 11000 with NO mention of TAG axle. Dana 80 Full Floating 11000, whatever this is, may be the Tag? Still searching between Chassis Manual, Motorhome Manual, and Placard for differences. The Chassis Manual indicates 17000 GVWR just to confuse me more.
  10. Thanks for your help. Unless the numbers on the Placard should be reversed and definately make more sense, ie: Rear 9400 and Tag 4600, I believe the Manual Weights would be the ones to follow. Wouldn't the numbers be okay for the GVWR and all GAWR's the Placard numbers were switched? Thanks again...
  11. I have a 1992 HR Imperial 33' on a Ford F-53 Chassis. 7.5L EFI V8 460. I have not weighed any tags or MH yet. Hopefully, I will have this done soon. Purchased 8 New Wrangler HT LT235/85R16E June 2009 The HR Owner's Manual indicates: GVWR 18,000 GAWR-Front 6,000 GAWR-Rear 11,000 GAWR-Tag 5800 GCWR 25000 The Driver Side Placard indicates: GVWR 18000 GAWR-Front 6000 GAWR-Rear 4600 GAWR-Tag 9400 No GCWR on Placard My concern is the Placard, which I thought is supposed to be the Official Weight rating scale, indicates that the Tag Axle should be bearing more weight than the Rear Dually. The Owner's Manual looks to be the correct weight to follow. Any suggestions or comments would greatly be appreciated.
  12. As a final update. The Genset would run for about 3 or 4 minutes, then it would stop running. Genset started each time only after priming the Fuel Pump. Solution: Replaced the Fuel Pump and it runs great. Thanks for your help.
  13. My Marquis 7000 7NHMFA26106C will crank, but will not start. It was running fine about two weeks ago. Parts that are Good: Full Tank of New Fuel in Fuel Tank; New Spark Plugs; New Fuel Filter; New Air Filter; Oil and Filter changed; New Spark Plugs; New Control Board. Tests I have completed: 12V measured at P1-7; 10V measured at P1-6; 9.3V measured when connected Voltmeter directly to Fuel Pump and hit Start Switch from Control Board. (I believe Fuel Pump should be able to run at 8Volt) I disconnected Fuel Hose from Fuel Filter and put hose in Jar. When I hit the Start Switch, NO Fuel came out of hose from Fuel Pump. When I Connected a direct wire from a 12V Battery to the Pump, the Pump pumped plenty of Fuel. Anyone know what I might test next?
