    The reality is that anything you do on a public wifi is pretty easy for someone else to actually "watch" what you are doing. Even if your bank has a secure server, you are not on a secure connection. The best thing you can do is what ynott96 suggested. Go to Verizon and ask them for a "mobile Hotspot" It will cost about $25 or so a month and will provide you with you own, private wifi that no one else can get on with out your password. Some will let you suspend service on the unit while you are not using it, you will just have to ask. It is much more secure. If you dont want to spend the extra $$, Do what Ronboyd suggested. Get on, do your business quickly, and get back off. As far as the new phone goes.....there are literally 100's of great choices. You are just going to have to figure what kind of phone you want, what you want it to do besides make and receive calls. Do some research, go to your local verizon, walmart, bestbuy, radioshack etc. and just look around. There is some pretty impressive devices out right now. Good luck.

    I use "Peak long life full strength" from Sams. We run it in our fleet of Semis and it holds up well so I started using it in my personal vehicles. It is all make/all model compatible which makes it convenient. I dont have to worry about carrying 2 different types of coolant for my rig and my toad.

    Wolfe10 had a good point about it being a good idea to match your stuff to your manufacturer just in case you ever have to put it in the shop but I that is up to you. I am not a fan of over priced dealer parts. You can also get this at walmart but it is slightly more than at sams. Good luck

    By wheel chocks, do mean the kind that you put in front and behind the wheels to keep it from rolling? These are used heavily in the trucking industry but I have never seen them used on a coach, only on travel trailers and fifth wheels. Or are you attempting to get your tires off the ground while parked or stored. Ohh, and welcome Gary. There are a lot of good people here with lots of great info. And congrats on your purchase.

    Since the weather has turned colder, 2 of my jacks are having a hard time coming up and staying up. I am thinking of replacing the springs on them.

    Has anyone ever done this?

    I went to my local dealer and they want almost $50 per spring which I think is crazy.

    Does anyone know where I can order them and what kind to get?

    Actually, bed liner can be any color you want it to be. I have sprayed my last 2 trucks the color of the body. 1 was white and 1 was red. My bedliner guy just went to our local paint and body supply store with my paint code and matched the paint and then added it to the liner. I am not sure on the ratios and all the technical info on how to do it, but it can be done. Looked really good for a number of years.

    I agree that there is no best engine. I have had Fords and Chevys and they both ran good and had about the same power and fuel economy. The transmissions on the different chassis may be something else to look at but I would not worry either way. Just find a coach that you and your family likes and the rest is secondary.

    Instead of messing with a plastic drain plug, I would recomend pulling the radiator hose and then let the engine run with the heater on and get up to temp to allow thethermostat to open and the remaining fluid in the system to be pumped out. If you just open the drain valve you are not getting all of the old fluid out, just the stuff that was in the radiator. Just my 2 cents.

    Jerry, thank you so much for your help. Mr. Adcock did contact my parents and they in turn contacted me.

    I would like to thank you and him for help in clearing up my confusion. He was also very generous in offering a spot to us free of charge. Again, thank you for your help. It is great to know that I will be able to enjoy future FMCA functions without having to wait until retirement. :D

    And I do look forward to meeting you as well as Mr.Adcock sometime in the near future.

    Hello all,

    I must say that I am writing this with a bit of disappointment. I have been a FMCA member for a few years now but have been a part of my parents membership for many years before that. We have yet to attend an actual rally but were looking forward to going to a six state rally in Shawnee, OK. that starts tomorrow.

    The problem is that both my wife and I are both fairly young (30 and 31) and both have full time Monday through Friday jobs. We were planning to leave Thursday night and attend the rally either on Friday or Saturday or maybe both.

    The advertisements for the rally only showed the full 5 day passport so I e-mailed the "rally master" but received no response. I called the FMCA office but no one there knew either. My parents showed up to the rally this morning and found out for me that they are not going to offer any daily passes, only the full passport which would be way out of the question for my wife and I and our 3 kids.

    So my question is.....Are all rallies like this? I don't really see the point of being a member if I am not going to be able to attend functions for another 25 years!?!

    Ok. So I went today and tried to figure something out. I turned my battery disconnects and was on battery power. I then turned the furnace on. It fired right up. I let it run for about 15 minutes and it did great. I then turned it off and let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. When I turned it back on, it would not light. I tried 2 more times with no luck. I tried again with the gen. running and still no luck. There is a on off switch in the outside furnace access which was on. I turned it off and tried it again and still nothing. Turned the switch back on and still would not light. I am at a complete loss on this. I attached some pics of the furnace. Thanks again guys. I really appreciate it.

    PS. The fridge along with the cook top light perfectly.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

    I will try and answer all the questions.

    There are no dirt dobbers anywhere in or around the furnace.

    The third time I checked, I was at home and on battery power.

    All of my coach batteries are pretty new and hold their charge although I have not actually tested them so I can not be %100 sure that they are perfect.

    Hi everyone. My name is Kevin Allison. I am 29. My wife and I own a 36' 1995 Holiday Rambler. This is our 3rd motorhome and our 7th RV. I have been motorhoming all my life and now enjoy it with my family. We have 3 daughters. My parents are FMCA members and convinced us to join a few months ago. We are looking forward to going to our first rally next year in Albuquerque and experiencing everything the FMCA has to offer.

    Hi all. I have a 1995 Holiday Rambler Endeavor. I traded our Bounder for it only a few months ago.

    Recently, we were about to go on a weekend trip so I did my usual inspection which included firing up the furnace. I was on battery power and it lit and ran fine. The next morning when we needed it, it would not light. We were plugged in to shore power at a park. I tried about 3 or 4 times with out any luck. We just used electric heaters the rest of the trip.

    About a week after we got back I finally had a chance to start looking at it and now it lights fine. We are scheduled to take another trip for New Years and am afraid that it will act up again when it is really cold.

    Everything is clean in the furnace and I have a full tank of LP.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
