  1. It's my understanding the price quoted by any local dealer does no matter.

    The work is completed by a shop that can process national accounts.

  2. Oil and filter change for the engine is straight forward. Should not be an issue if you can chage it on your car you can change it on your MH.

    Biggest issue is how to get rid of the 30 gallons of old oil.

    Make sure you change the fuel filters at the same time, could save some problems later.

    I change my oil and filters yearly. I don't worry about the miles.

    Unless you’re really up to it I would take it to a shop for the transmission.


  3. Your right running without gauges would be foolish at best. But this is not apples to apples.

    You can't see your disk brake temp?

    I agree monitoring your tires is never a bad thing. But you can not leave it to the gauges....

    The cause of most blow outs is hitting something in the road or a degraded tire.

    Modern tires can easily handle a range of pressure without damage.

    I say if someone has $600 to spend get the TMPS.


  4. Looks like you have a one pice fiberglass roof. The clear coat is starting to peel from the sun.

    You can clean it up and have it recoated or you can put a good coat of wax on the roof.

    The real issue is the caulking around the edge. The firbeglass roof is held in place by a thin bead of caulk around the edge.

    If your roof is showing signs of clear coat failure you should have the caulking checked.

    The loss of the clear coat will allow the roof to degrade over time but if you lose the seal around the edge you can lose the entire roof in a heart beat.

    I would take it to a Winnebago authorized service shop to have the inspection completed.


  5. I run Crossfire’s on everything with duals. Good indicator for over under inflation.

    One connection to fill both tires. If one tire has a sudden loss of air the system blocks that tire away so you will not drain both tires.

    With good tire maintenance practices, check pressure before a trip and each morning before you start, I see very little advantage to TPMS Systems.

    The cost/benefit is out of line. TPMS will not save you from a blowout, good tire management will.

    The Crossfire will show if you’re over or under pressure at a glance. Proper pressure at the start of the day is the key. It’s not unusual for tire pressure to change by 5 to 7 psi under normal conditions and even more if altitude/temp changes during the day.

    The toad might be the place for TPMS. Again the key is to keep an eye on your tires, all of them.

    I check my tires at every stop and the Crossfire make this easy.


  6. My 2004 Vectra had no windshield problems but my 2006 did.. A little clear windshield sealant and it's OK now.

    I agree Winnebago can be difficult to deal with if you get the wrong person. I've had better luck letting the dealer talk with the Winnebago folks.

    I'm on my second Vectra and I love it. For the most part Winnebago makes a fine product
