Hi alfredo, I don't post here often, but I thought I would respond to you inquiry. We've been to Pigeon Forge/Smoky Mountains area 5 times; most recently April 17-19 last year. We are attending a Thor Diesel Club Rally in the same area April 24th- 29th 2016. We have a 42 foot coach and tow a Jeep. Quite frankly, I don't consider the "Main Drag" through Pigeon Forge and Sevierville all that bad. There has been major road construction there for the last several years and that's pretty well wrapped up and we had zero problems last spring navigating through town. Check the local Chamber of Commerce calendar before you make plans. The 3rd week of April is the spring "Rod Run". Unless you're into "cars" big time, I'd suggest you stay clear. There's about 2000 cars riding the strip and another 10,000 people in attendance. Our favorite place to stay is Up The Creek RV. It's about 4 or 5 miles out of town. There are a couple of right angle turns from one small paved road onto another small paved road so just take your time and you'll be fine. It's for self contained units only, no shower house etc, full hook-ups naturally, mostly back-in sites, with privacy plantings between sites, concrete patios. The park was adding a number of new sites last spring and would probably be ready by now. Please check their website. If you have pets, there's a decent fenced in dog park as well. Not much for kids to do. Once you are unhooked from your toad, there is a back road from the RV Park that avoids the busy strip and will take you right to the entrance of Smokey Mountains National Park. Hope this helps.

I've never camped at this Jellystone, however, I do live in the western NY area and suggest the following route. Continue on I-390 to I-86 west. Take Route 19 (a bit winding and hilly) north at Exit 30 then RT243 towards RT98 at Rushford, NY. When you get to Arcade, NY, you'll have a fairly tight right turn and left turn in the small business district to stay on RT98. RT98/RT77 will take you to your right hand turn towards Jellystone . There aren't any true "mountains" in this area, rather, some good sized hills. No matter what route you select you will encounter them. Taking RT16 is somewhat winding and usually quite busy and you'd still have to take RT39 from Yorkshire into Arcade to pick up RT98. RT436 takes you well out of the way.
