  1. Disney won't give discounts unless you specifically asked for them. If you have AAA call back and ask if you can get AAA discount with your reservation. If that not available, ask if they have any other promotions you can take advantage of. As far as your two dogs, they added a very large dog park about 3-5 years ago. Closest loops to it are 300 and 500 and the one just south of 500 but can't recall number. The 800 and 700 loops have a trail behind them to walk the dogs on leash (you can see part of the old Disney RR tracks that used to run through CG on this trail). You can still walk to dog park by crossing street and cutting thru loop 500 and then cross street again to the off-leash park. You have a very long RV. Disney enlarged the sites in all the loops but the loop road itself is still a bit narrow. When you made your ressies, you gave them all the details of your rig (length, slideouts, etc) and they should put you in a spot that will fit you. Just remember that when you first enter your loop and it seems so tight, especially if most of sites are occupied at the time you arrive. We have a 37 footer but we have seen much bigger rigs all over the CG. Fort Wilderness is the best place to stay when visiting WDW. No other CG in the area can compare. As a matter of fact, we even stayed there one time and never entered any of the Disneyworld parks. Wishing you a wonderful time.
  2. 15 amp service? For a large Class A?
  3. Yes it was. We are overdue for a return trip to GB. Artillery Ridge will be in the running when we do. Thanks again.
  4. Thank you Gary for your response to my inquiry a year ago. I had forgotten my password and hit a wall each time I tried to retrieve it. Gave up for along time but decided to try again today and this time, my password was sent to me immediately. It is exactly one year and a day since I had access to this forum. In that timeframe, we have been to North Beach CG twice. First time with a toad and the second time without as it was pouring rain when we were leaving NY and didn't wish to deal with the hassle of hooking it up, etc. On this 2nd visit, we signed up for the trolley/train tour of St. Augustine (the one that starts at the Old Jail) and they shuttled us back and forth from the CG to town.
  5. Thank you for the information. I am late (very) in my reply as I had trouble accessing the FMCA account and retrieving my password. After giving up on this site, I tried again to retrieve my password today and they recognized my user name this time around. So, today is the first day I am on this site in - wow! - exactly a year and one day's time!!!! Thanks again.
  6. Ah very nice rule number one: "1. Remember owning a coach improves one's life, if you let it."
  7. Dead-on right about patience being a necessity when RVing. Reading your blog had me LOL-ing at some points and cringing at others! Now I am off to find and read Part 1 of your "Rules for Owning a Motorhome". I need to discover what your #1 rule is!
  8. We were thinking of trying a new CG next time we go to Gettysburg. Tell us a bit more of what you think about this particular one please.
  9. How about if one does NOT have a toad and wishes to stay in St. Augustine area? Any suggestions there? Right now, looking into St. Augustine Beach KOA and North Beach Camp Resort. The KOA has a shuttle that goes into town. North Beach does not seem to have that from what I read so far. Any input on this from anyone? cpenn - hope you don't mind me intruding on your thread but rather than start a new topic, thought I would just get a bit more specific about one of the same areas you were asking about. Thanks
