  1. The available apps. Interesting. I would still like to get a printed receipt from the pump just like I do locally when I fuel our vehicles. Guess that will be awhile,.

When I was working I did not mind going in for my receipt. Fill my thermos, nuke a burrito, then roll.  RVing  takes the pressure off. I still do not mind going in as a retired trucker and now a diesel RV owner. I estimate my fuel needs and pay cash at the fuel desk. They give me a receipt then if I can't get it all in, I go to the fuel desk for a new receipt and a partial refund. I am never in a hurry anymore.

  2. There is a dealer in Ocala. That is central Florida at least to me. Check the web  There are at least 8 to 10 dealers in Florida. Your problems with the turbo and waste gate are easily fixable on the Series 60. Had one in my last big rig before retirement. Bought it used and the first repair was what you described.  I think most Detroit Diesel shops in Florida are owned by  a big company (Stevenson maybe). For a replacement including  labor ,  maybe 3 thousand or so. Possibly more but a malfunctioning turbo can cause some real $ problems if you try to get by on your way elsewhere

  3. Here is my story and I am sticking to it.😎

Lost our HD DVR  for a reason not known. Called the 800 number on most recent bill. Actually talked to a rep in the US/ near Tulsa. He placed an order for a new one and said it  would be delivered  in  two business days. No show. Called again and wound up talking to someone that I could barely understanding .  She eventually decided to authorize a local Direct TV  contractor  to deliver one. He showed when promised  , but said that he had everything BUT a HD DVR. He showed me. Had everything but what I wanted. Direct TV was on the side of his van. Was told that only refurbished units were available.  Said they are no longer being built. Thanked him . Told him that I was going to try for one from Solid Signal in Michigan. A Direct TV vendor. Turns out his company uses them for products..

Have used Solig Signal for years. In retrospect, don't know what I was thinking when I did not order from them. Unit arrived  in two days. I installed it easily. Then I had forgotten that Solid Signal could  activate them with a phone call from me. They have contacts at Direct TV that activate them. The rest was a mess. Call wound up in the Phillipines, and the rep clearly did not know what to do. She said that since the unit was not one of theirs she could not turn it on. Finally got to her supervisor and she walked through the activation easily.

just received our monthly bill and it included $99 for the vendors charge and he arrived without the product that I ordered. Am not going to even try to fix that. Before AT&T, when I called Direct TV for any reason I was thanked for our lengthy membership.  Would not take much more abuse for a change. Our Winegard Traveler on the Phaeton can be converted to Dish.

  4. Yes you can run US24 westbound from Colorado Springs.  Have run that stretch in both motorhomes and also in an 18 wheeler. Take US285 south from the  Buena Vista area to US50 then westbound over Monarch Pass. The pass is 11,312 high , but 50 is well maintained . Have traveled it in two Motorhomes, an F-150 pulling a travel trailer and in 18 wheelers. The downgrades are lengthy but the curves are gentle. I see that you have a diesel with I am guessing a compression brake. US50 joins I-70  with about 20 miles left to the Utah line west side of Grand Junction. I have run US50 across Nevada in 18wheelers and hitch hiking, but never in an RV.  If I had a reason to run it with a motorhome I would.

  5. Carl/ the boat museum in Clayton NY is a Museum. There are descriptions at every display. I only put the "water cooled" in mention of V-12 engines because not everybody is as smart as an old boat racer like you.😎😉 There  are a few V-12 engines displayed on shop Dolly's. All old and the workmanship is impressive. Would be tough to air cool a V engine of any size of course

  6. One other observation. A dealer cannot give a customer retail on a trade. They always want to have the escape of wholesaling a unit to a known professional buyer that will in turn try to retail it for a profit. The only time a dealer will give you something close to retail for your trade, is because he has an upgrade that has been setting around too long, for whatever reason. Too much money in it,  a slowdown in the economy,  made a mistake when he priced the upgrade, etc.

  7. Carl/ I thought Motorhomes of Texas was the gold standard? When shopping for a  motor vehicle of any type I have a friend that says to leave a possible trade out of the deal. Do not mention it or bring it with you. Get the best deal that you can on the upgrade and then bring the trade into the picture, but not right away. Wait a few days and then " I thought that I had my coach sold privately ,but the guy backed out (for whatever reason)." If he gives you the number you are happy with, you have a fair idea of what the upgrade is really costing you.

  8. Joe/ 60 mph gusts/ 30 or so constant. We are surrounded by tall trees which amplify the sound. Would have bet that we would lose power. We didn't.   Our circuit comes from a rural connection. The houses near us were built on a corn field. Underground power from the town. MET ED has a robot that answers when reporting an outage. Always recognizes us because of Caller ID. Robot is programmed to tell us You are last!! 😎  Several times  we were over 5 days getting our power back.

Bill/ did you visit the boat museum in Clayton?  Worth every penny. Got a kick out of the building across the street displaying hydroplane racing boats.  Many had V-12 water cooled engines from WW II

Carl/ have stayed in this area several times over the years. The Clayton/Alexandria Bay Area on the St. Lawrence is well worth the time.

  9. Carl/ fly specks out of cow ____. I do not watch much college football, and when I do, it is usually Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, SC. I have never watched a complete PENN State game although we have lived in PA for 42 years plus.

I figured that there was a reason for the late pick. Duh!' meant that a bunch of teams passed up an opportunity to buy up a cheapie ouarterback that might go somewhere and did he!
