  1. If I understand what you are saying it is for safety if a bag blew well you are under your coach.

I would keep using the wood.

I built cat blocks out for 2x4's for working under.

Yes, safety is the reason. That and the stack of 4x4's in the garage. Jack stands would take a lot less space and I might then carry them in the storage bays. As the safety officer on our volunteer fire dept, it would be bad form for me to be the subject of an incident. Might not look so good!

  2. I took the obsolete Datron sat antenna apart and removed the upper pieces and left the mounting plate. I then removed the seal plate for the wiring and with help feeding the wires through from my wife we put our XM and the WE Boost (Cell Amplifier) Antenna's on the Steel mounting plate. Resealed everything with lots of Dicor. I also pulled 2 extra wires along with the antenna wires and looped them under the roof for anything I my do in the future.

    Works absolutely perfect!

  3. When I have been doing inspections, greasing and other things under the coach, I use a lot of wood blocking under the Levelers (leave them up) and then dump the air so things are solid and stable.

It's pain with all of the wood blocks plus storing them at home takes a lot of space.

Does anyone use Jack/Safety Stands and do you have jack for lifting? Just based on the weights, these items would need to be heavy truck types.

Where did you get them and what was the cost?

Or, do you just use blocks and deal with the storage?

    Thanks in advance.

    Bob

  4. Found them. Crawled under and looked at the inside. 0513 on the 3 I could see. So they're from the 5th week of 2013! Horay, Don't need to worry about that for a while.

    Thanks Wolfe10!

I am used to my cars and the "c" we had where the codes were easy to locate.

  5. On the 2003 Camelot we purchased last year, the tires are Goodyear G661 HSA tires. They were introduced in 2009, so we know they are newer than that. I have looked all over the tires for the date codes and no luck finding anything that matches what is described on line.

Lots of numbers, but nothing following "DOT". Would some photos help?

Maybe a trip to a Goodyear dealer?

    Thanks,

  6. So far the Amish unit is excellent! at a setting of 4, Refer is at 35 degrees and freezer is at 0. Been running it steadily since the change out with some wireless thermometers. At a setting of 9, refer was at 32 and the freezer was -3. We have a 2 week trip coming up soon and we'll see how thing go then. We are very happy with our decision.

  7. Puff, we seem to have two post going at the same time on just about the same issue. When I pulled the old NorCold out, the coils on the back were so rusty it amazed me that they were holding any gases at all. However I was lucky when I looked at the floor of the opening the wood was in great shape. I have heard horror stories of some that had rotted away.

    Herman

Rusty coils is why I replaced my cooling unit last month with an Amish (Dutch Aire) unit. When we bought it, I saw the rust and knew it would need to be replaced. Best part of the Amish unit is no recall junk. Best part, the recall box tripped on our way to Shipshewana for the changeout.

I had JC Refrigeration in Shipshewana do the work and I went the Helium filled unit.

When they did the change, they found the heaters loose.

  8. You can put a splitter after the antenna power supply/amplifier. 1 cable to the front converter and 1 to the back converter. Then you can watch different channels on each tv.

I feel your pain by the way. When we bought our coach, everything was disconnected as the previous owner had it converted to digital TV's. Also, none of the cables were marked.

They had taken the video selector control and DVD player with them.

Found the selector with antenna power on Amazon and got a DVD player. Took about 2 hours of wire ringing out and reconnecting everything to get it all working correctly.

  9. I, also, just got off the phone with Cummins about the use of bio-diesel in the ISC engines, while the emissions were not discussed, I did get an earful about the ISC engines. They are only approved for # 2 diesel. Any Bio will shorten engine life, reduce economy and require more frequent fuel filter changes. B-20 is worse than B-5 by a huge amount. I didn't get into engine size or date of production, just ISC.

Called again and asked for a higher level tech support person. Asked them about all of the conflicting information coming from their website and support personnel. She asked me for my engine serial number and some other information. She said she would research and call me back.

Answer: Not recommended for my engine. B5 blend would fine and if I put B20 in, to make sure it was less than a half tank of the blend into straight #2 diesel. 7% blend is the max for biodiesel in my engine.

You need to call them with your serial number for a good answer regarding your enige. There are ISC engines that B20 will be OK on.

Also check with the coach builder to see if the tank, fuel lines and fittings they supplied will handle B20.

  10. After reading the above comments, I agree with the other posters. If you tow according to the manufacturers recommendations, the mileage on the odometer is the correct mileage to be reported. If it was not, we would be compelled to record mileage while being towed and the odometer would be set up that way.

My biggest concern was the fact that the dealer has second thoughts. I think he is setting you up for a quick, cheap sale. I, personally, would have gone somewhere else after that.

    Good luck and safe travels

    ^^ What he said!

  11. Our cats have traveled with us ever since we got our first RV. All have done very well and ours were all house cats that had no interest in the outdoors. When we first get them, we get them used to the 2nd home by taking them out there for variable times. The first trip then goes quite well.

On our "C's" we would use one of the under dinette storage areas for the litter box and put a order absorber in there with it as well. We would also use the curtain across the opening as others have. The litter gets cleaned daily and we never had any problems.

Still working on what our final idea will be with the "A".

Our current cat needs medication twice daily, so it is a must that she travel with us.

Dogs and cats, funny how they become important members of the family, ain't it?

  12. We filled up at the Lake Park FJ on April 4th on the way home. No problems at all. I haven't had any fuel issues (knock on wood) but I do keep 2 sets of filters on board all the time.

Hope you get to the bottom of this.

  13. We just purchased a 2003 Monaco Camelot in December and I am trying to figure out the coolant for it. I have not looked at the color, etc. as it is stored at the dealers until March.

Is there a test lab that I can use to send a sample so I can decide if/what needs to done to maintain it or if it is time to change it. If it is time for the change, I plan on switching to OAT coolants.

    Thanks
