  1. Having a unique problem with the Power Gear Auto Level Control Panel in my 2016 Winnebago Meridian Model 40R. While driving down to Florida the control panel starts flashing and the alarms are sounding as though the jacks are extending. This has occurred several times today and then it just stops ad everything is normal. The jacks aren’t moving so its just the control panel and associated alarms. Im pretty wavy with mechanical issues but is something I am complety unfamiliar with. Any thoughts on what is causing this.
  2. Leaving Forest City Iowa for NY and looking for a reputable Freightliner service center along my route. I will be taking 80 east so looking for a location no far off 80.
  3. Well we just completed the first week of a 7 week trip and had to bring the coach home today because 2 slides are not working as designed. We own a 2016 Winnebago Meridian 40R. The bedroom slide retracted unevenly and had to be pushed in with the help of another camper. The kitchen / couch slide squeaks terribly and makes horrible cracking sounds during extension. We live in southern New York and any dealer with a 5 hour radius wont even look at the coach until mid August. Im looking for any recommended service companies within a 6 hour drive of my home that can service Winnebago's and can fit me in over the next 2 weeks.
  4. So my clothes dryer decided to stop drying my clothes so I'm looking for some assistance in removing the stackable unit so I can access the part that needs replacing. I own a 2016 Winnebago Itasca Meridian model 40R and I know that some may suggest taking it to a repair shop since its still under warranty but repair shops in my area seem to break more than they fix. I haven't found a decent one yet. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations as I prepare to uncover the beast from its long winter nap. The dryer is an Ariston Splendide model.
  5. We own a 2016 Winnebago Itasca Meridian 40R and during the last leg of our cross-country trip the full wall Power Gear Slide stopped working. Thankfully it was in the retracted position so we were able get from place to place. I placed a call to Winnebago and they referred it to a tech who called me back. He only provided limited information which was not helpful and I also emailed Lippert and they said they would get back to me in a few days. That was 2 weeks ago. I called a local dealership who dispatched a mobile mechanic who drove to my site and he also called Winnebago. He gave the Winnebago tech their dealer number and I was shocked to hear the specific details that were provided to the mobile tech that they never gave me when I called. It turns out that there are 2 micro switches hidden in the top of 2 cabinets that housed the pistons that are part of the slide locking system. One of the pistons was stuck and needed to be lubricated and now all is fine. I am a mechanical engineer who could have resolved this problem if they only supplied me with the same information but I guess thats how they repay the dealers for selling their products. Very frustrating!!
  6. I called Winnebago and they were no help.
  7. It is an electric unit and the batteries are fully charged. I have no power to the switch. All fuses are good.
  8. I did hold the button in long enough for the lock to retract.
  9. We have a 2016 Winnebago Meridian 40R and the full wall slide suddenly will not extend. There are no faults on the panel and no fuses blown as far as I can tell. There is no sound and no movement. We are traveling cross country and currently in Nashville. I've had many nightmares at Camping World where the unit was purchased so I'm hoping someone has some suggestions.
  10. I have a 2016 Winnebago Meridian Itasca 40U outfitted with the Riverpark system. The Rand McNally GPS is giving me fits. It is extremely slow and not current. It's ranges from 2 to 5 miles behind my current location. I spoke to a Rand McNally tech who sent me the current download and I performed the update. Still no change and we are driving cross country and need a reliable system.
  11. Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions and helpful comments. I will definitely take the toad along mainly because we enjoy getting out and seeing the sites after we get set up at the campground. We also have 2 little dogs that go everywhere we can take them. I'm a little nervous but also very excited to have the opportunity to see this beautiful country in a way that only and motorhome can provide.
  12. Leaving from Westchester County which is in the southeastern end of the state.
  13. My wife and I are retiring this year and are planning our first cross country trip from Southern NY to California and back. We are planning to leave in late July for about 3 1/2 months and hope to cover the northern states going west and the southern states going east. Its my wife and 2 small dogs that go everywhere with us and we have a 40 foot diesel pusher with a Jeep Toad. I am looking for any assistance and recommendations from those who have done this before. We started plotting out the northern states and it looks like we are going to have to cut back on some of the proposed sites in the interest of time but I also want some R&R included in the trip. Suggestions would include roads to travel (I prefer scenic when possible), really cool places to see ( I like National Parks), things to avoid, problems you may have encountered etc. We've been camping for 30 years and we have owned tents, pop-ups, pull behind trailers, fifth wheels and now our first motorhome. We are using the Good Sam trip planner which is helpful but let me know if a better trip planner exists.
  14. I have a 40-foot diesel pusher and about to do my first oil change. The rig is very close to the ground and impossible to get under it to place a pan and remove the drain plug. Can I use my rear jacks to raise the vehicle and give me the room I need to get under it?
  15. I have a 40ft 38,000lb Motorhome and I average 8mpg on with highway driving at 65mph.
  16. I own a 2016 Winnebago powered by a Cummins diesel with 3,000 miles. I am about to store the unit for the winter and wondering if I should change the oil with only 3,000 miles on the engine. What does everyone recommend.
  17. After 35 years of camping in tents, pop-ups, travel trailers and 5th wheels, we finally purchased a 2016 Itasca Meridian 40R for our vacation home on wheels and couldn't be happier. Getting ready to retire and see this beautiful country.
  18. I cannot get hot water to operate. This is the Atwood Insta Hot the came with my 2016 Itasca Meridian 40R. When faucet is turned on the unit come on but does not fire. LP is on and the unit worked last week. Any suggestions would be appreciated
  19. Thanks to all for the helpful advise.
  20. I'm a newbie to motorhomes and would like to know the most common location on the windshield to mount an EZ Pass. Do most of you mount it on top, bottom or left side.
