So, I would like to start by saying that I am really glad that we joined FMCA. We have been members now for six years and we have met some very nice people. The people in the chapters become like family.
We have been motorhoming for six years and we love every minute of it. In our traveling group is myself, my husband and our dog, Buddy. He is a Shelti, but most people call him a little lassie. He is a theraphy dog when we are home in the summer working at our local hospital playing with the kids. He loves to travel. He just lays down and sleeps most of the way until we slow down then he gets up to see where we are.
We have a 2005 Gulf Stream that we bought from the original owners. So we are the second owners of it. We have never been sorry that we bought it. It has brought of a lot of fun. How we came about finding it was, we were riding on our motorcycle one day and it was parked alongside of the road. We stopped and looked at it and talked to the owners. We left that day owning a class A motorhome.
The thing that is interesting about this story is that we have never owned anything like this before. My husband has never driven anything this big, but he drove it that day and we found a new way of life. You just never know when your lifestyle is going to change. We don't regret it at all.
We go south in the winter and the last five years we have spent it in Florida. So this year we are going to go to Texas for a change. We have heard that in the winter it is very nice and the people are very welcoming. Plus, there is a lot to see and do there. We are really looking forward to it. We generally leave after thanksgiving and stay until April. By then we are ready to hit the trail back home. We aren't ones that can live in a motorhome full-time. We still enjoy both our house and the freedom the coach.
So that is a little bit about us. We are just glad to be part of a great association. So be safe and maybe we will meet someday along the trail.
