Correct, it is the Allison 3000.

Does anyone have any experience with the after-market chips increasing the performance on their diesel pushers? I’ve got a 14 Mountain Aire with the Cummings ISL 8.9 450 hp pusher and have heard about some of the chips improving performance of hp and torque up to 20%. It would be nice to climb some of the hills a little easier but not if there would be damage to the engine or transmission. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the info. I guess I better get one!

While at a RV park one of my neighbors suggested it would be prudent to get a portable water softener. I’ve seen several rv’ers use one of these blue portable units and wondered if I should get one. Any thoughts?

I haven't but will look.

The shade uses toggle switches inside. You are correct re the front shade. It does work but the mechanic screwed some setting up as it will go down and up but has an auto-stop at the level shown.

I am struggling with my auto-shades. Purchased a 2014 Newmar Mountain Aire last Nov. The Driver side shade stopped working on my trip back to New Mexico from Florida. I purchased a whole new shade system and the mechanic dropped and broke the new on. He struggled for a couple of days to get it to work before he broke it. He showed me how it would work outside hooked up to a 12volt battery, there was power to the inside plug in but it would now work hooked up inside. Now the front window shade will not retract all the way up. Any idea what kind of problem I now have and what should I do next? The did order and have a new shade to replace the broken one but after working on the 1st one he created an additional problem as in the pic below.

I recently purchased a 2014 Newmar Mountain Aire. It was in Florida at one of the large dealerships and we brought it back to New Mexico. I tried to find out what maintenance had been done which they said everything but as I am finding out it was only oil/filter changes to the engine and generator. I wanted to make sure proper/known maintenance has been done so am doing it and logging into a chassis and coach logbook form myself and the next owner if and when I trade it off. I just took it to a reputable RV Mechanic here in Albuquerque to change out the Air Dryer Filter and since he has a pit we could drive over and see the underside we discovered this rust. I am just curious as to how bad this is and what kind of problems I can expect in the future. Thanks for your help. Keigm

The inverter/charger is a Magnum 2800 Watt.

I just replaced my old house AGM 6 volt batteries with 8 Lifeline AGM 6volt batteries. In looking at some blogs I see it has been recommended to make sure the batteries are being charged correctly. I am assuming the SilverLeaf on my Newmar Mountain Aire is set up correctly but am just guessing. I would like to make sure though; what is the correct way to charge an AGM battery?

Thanks, I'll check on it. We are doing the RV Basics that begins before the convention.

Ok Wilde Bill, we are signed up for Chandler. Looking forward to the trip and convention.

I just had my 2014 Newmar Mountain Aire weighed. Now I need an expert inform me the correct tire pressure. I had 120 of 150 gals of fuel on board and 30 of 105 gals of water on board. My Gross Weight was: 40,060 lbs The Steer Axle was: 15,640 lbs Drive Axle was: 20,100 lbs Tag Axle: 4,320 lbs It was too bad I wasn't being filmed for candid camera as It took about 5 times to check in with the young lady behind the desk at the Flying J Truck Stop west of Albuquerque. My 1st attempt was me getting on the scales the wrong way and it went downhill from there. After the 5th attempt I got the weight, I hope. Here are manufacture's Numbers: GVWR is: 44,600 lbs Front GAWR: 17,000 lbs Rear GAWR: 20,000 lbs Tag GAWR: 10,000 lbs UVW: 38,400 lbs

Who Is Going To The FMCA Convention in Arizona?
keigm replied to manholt's topic in FMCA Chandler, Ariz., 2017
Susan and I are going. We will be attending the RV Basics program so we will have to get there early. We've just joined FMCA so this will be our 1st convention. I've seen those FCMA plaques for years at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, I guess I will learn 1st hand what it's all about this coming March. -
Nice Looking Grand Villa Nitehawk. It looks new! I remember one of my friends who had one and I was always envious.
-
Yes, we are members of FMCA. We joined when we bought our Coach.

Thank you Wolfe10 for the quick reply. I probably won't be able to make the convention this year as all this has come about rather quickly. Hopefully I can get it on the calendar for next year.

My wife Susan and I decided to move up to a Class A leaving behind many pleasant memories of our 27' Holiday Rambler Travel Trailer. We went to Ft Meyers, FL about a month ago to pick it up at North Trails RV and drive the 2000 mile trip back to Albuquerque. It is a 2014 44' Newmar Mountain Aire 4369. We are trying to learn all the ins and outs of a motor home and have found it is much more complicated than our TT. Last week we did a beta run to Elephant Butte Lake pulling our Jeep and are looking forward to many more trips in the future.

Greetings, My wife and I recently purchased a 2014 Newmar Mountain Aire. We moved up from our 27' HR Travel Trailer of 20 years. I am now trying to get up to speed with the ins and outs of our new to us coach. Due to conflicting information I need to know the correct tire pressure and hopefully why. The front 2 tires are recommended to be at 125 psi and the back 6 are recommended to be 85 psi with the maximum of all 8 130 psi. I have a friend with a similar coach who told me 85 was too little and he runs his at 110 psi. Right now I have just split it down the middle and have the back 6 at 100. I'd like to get some better clarification if I could. Thank you in advance for your expertise.
