  1. Ummm, because it wasn't working. We didn't realize when we bought it that it wasn't working. When we checked out the coach it was hooked up to shore water.
  2. Herman, We were dry camping when we had the issue. We left Baker City, OR and stopped in Spokane, Wa , which was our destination. We hooked up the hose then, that is what I was referencing. Our coach is 45 feet. The bay area that has the holding tank is filled up mostly with the holding tank and the aqua hot. The dial for the aqua hot for the basement is in this area. I dont' remember seeing anything that you are describing. We bought the coach in July and were told it was checked out front to back and everything changed, so I am not sure exactly when the filters were changed. We did have to replace the water pump in August. I visually looked at the water tank. We don't rely on the info panel/aladdin as it doesnt seem to be accurate. I have to double check, but I am pretty sure our wet bay does not have a heater. We have hung the light bulb in there, but I think we need something more. Sorry if the info I am giving is not clear. It seems clear in my head, LOL. Tracey
  3. I am not sure what you think I am leaving out. We are new to RV'ing and have tried to learn ahead of times. This is why I am asking on the forum, as my owners manual is not very clear on things. Our water tank was approx 3/4 full. I know the basement heater is working, we have checked. No, we don't have a thermometer down there, but will be getting one. Tracey
  4. Bill, We were dry camping when we froze. We were fine when we went to bed, frozen when we got up. The coach was nice and warm, the aqua-hot was on and the basement heater was on. The water bay area is not heated. We assume that is where the problem is. We have turned on the water pump, can hear it turn on but nothing happens with the faucets. We have a shop light with 75 watt bulb in the wet bay from other recommendations. We have gone through two bulbs so far and still no improvement. I think a little heater might be next. Tracey
  5. We have done the shop light with 75 watt bulb and that area still has ice in it and we have gone through 2 light bulbs. We will have to do something different. My husband got the hose back in the coach, not sure how he did it. We did wrap the hose, but it still froze. It is supposed to warm up in the next couple of days, so hopefully we can get it fixed and prevent it happening again. Still learning, painfully....
  6. We had water until we had to stop in Baker City, OR because of road conditions. We had water when we went to bed, but dry camped. The aqua hot was on-diesel. The basement heater was on. The temps were very low, below 20. When we got up, we didn't have water. The coach was very warm and toasty. We turned the water pump on and can hear it turn on, but still no water. We don't have a warm water bay area. We were assuming something froze in that area, but have put some light bulbs in there and still no luck. The temps are supposed to be in the mid 30's to 40's the next few days, so hopefully we can get it thawed out. I am not sure about the heat exchangers. The owner's manual says you can put the thermostat on furnace and can keep the coach warm while going down the road. I am not sure about that, maybe have to run the generator? Tracey
  7. Looking for some input. I have a 2006 Monaco Executive. We were driving cross-country form Houston to Spokane, WA. We have an Aqua-hot and Aqua hot basement heater ( I thought). I turned on the basement heater. We had no issues with the pipes until we got to Baker City, OR where we had to stop due to road conditions. I am not sure how low the temps got overnight. We had water when we went to bed at approx 11, but then didn't have any in the morning. I am assuming something froze. I thought we were OK since we had the basement heater and we were in the coach, temps about 66. What are my options? We are now in Spokane. The temps won't be above freezing for another few days. I am assuming I will have to wait until if warms up to see if anything is burst? How do I keep this from happening again? Also, do you suggest a heated hose from the water source to the coach? It doesn't seem like wrapping the hose would be enough. Tracey
  8. hermannmullins The coach was towed to Lodestar Truck Group/Corley Wetsel Freightliner shop in Abilene, TX. I don't really need salvage info, I have already found the hydraulic fan motor from Visone Salvage. Colaw didn't have one. My question is regarding the fuel transfer pump: Your fuel transfer pump is leaking and also needs to be replaced, it's leaking onto the starter and is a fire hazard. Gonna be $1600 for the part. Is this something that needs to be done now? Will it really catch on fire? Unsure of how long it has been going on. Can we finish our drive from TX to WA and have it dealt with in WA? Is it something that someone who isn't mechanically inclined able to do? Sorry for so many questions. Now to this motorhome stuff and am beginning to wonder if we got a lemon, seems we have one issue after another. Thanks, Tracey
  9. I have a Cummins 525 hp ISX engine in a 2006 Monaco Executive. The coach is in the shop due to a breakdown. I was told the problem was I needed a new hydraulic fan motor- which I had to get from salvage yard because Monaco/Roadmaster doesn't have any, otherwise a 4 month wait. Anyhow, the shop called yesterday to say Hey, your fuel transfer pump is leaking and also needs to be replaced, it's leaking onto the starter and is a fire hazard. Gonna be $1600 for the part.
