I do not find an Onan code 24 in the. Onan Quietdiesel service manual, however #24 indicates a coolant sensor fault, the genset may or may not have to come out of the MH for replacement, it depends on your specific installation by the MH mfgr. IMO this can be simply a loose/corroded wire connection, or a complicated as a severely restricted cooling system, which will require out-of-MH repairs and cleaning. If the latter is actual, you might want to replace all coolant hoses, thermostat, and generator drive-belt while the genset is on the bench. When was the last coolant flush and replace?

Sounds like you're doing everything right. EPDM roof covering has a normal lifespan of at least 20 years. The white top coating does degrade with time and weather, even with your annual maintenance. The Dicor FAQ section has almost every Q&A one might encounter.

Yup, if you desire powering everything at once as from your utility company! My local REMC hands out a booklet with the exact description, including pictures and stock # of each component. I did not attempt to power everything, just freezers, fridges, coffeemaker and TV, nothing 240VAC. My Boliy 3600 inverter series genset does that easily. -
I agree Bill! I try to watch the show every Sunday morning on CBS; Henry Ford's Innovation nation. Thomas Edison used to camp with Henry Ford, there are pictures of them in the Ford modified truck camping at the museum in Ft. Myers FL.

Hi Wayne, I think you worded the description of economy-mode backwards. Economy-mode changes the Allison shift pattern so it remains in 5 and 6 gears(overdrive) longer than normal-mode. The Allison default is normal-mode. In normal-mode the Allison will sometimes "hunt" for the proper gear, economy-mode keeps the Allison in the higher gear until the engine reaches the lowest point of maximum torque. This is good and bad; good to maximize fuel consumption, bad because the engine water pump is not spinning fast enough to move coolant quickly enough for proper engine cooling. nor spin the cooling fan fast enough to dissipate heat from the radiator on long, hard pulls. reference: http://forum.dieselrvclub.org/index.php?topic=6634.0 FWIW my SIL is USA maintenance manager for a large trucking company. I asked him about economy-mode and he said for the GVWR weight of my MH (36K#) I should always use economy-mode. Perhaps just a simple headline in the paper that might say: “OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING, A VETERAN DIED TODAY.”

Brakes my foot, that old FWD Ford van will pull anything. I wonder how it handles with the hitch over the rear axle?? Seems it would limit turning radius severely, perhaps he replaced the rear wheels with castor wheels?.

Our 1999 model came with the MH. It reliably functions as a refrigerator or as a freezer from both 120VAC and 12VDC. Although I must admit it takes some sampliing to find the correct setting for ice-cold beer-without ice in the bottle. The drawer tray pulls out so the Dometic is actually outside the compartment. if we were to purchase a new MH a basement freezer would be part of the deal. Check out the amp-draw and add that to the refrigerator amp-draw for boondocking.

As you noted everything is different, I would go with the 10G unit if there is room.. FWIW the Atwood 10G heater while using both LP and electric has a recovery rate of 14.5G per hr. -

"The NEC does require a transfer switch to be used instead of wiring directly below the main breaker, although in my state the transfer switch can be manual or automatic, but it is required, if one gets caught negating this code, a fine can be levied if the the electric company or inspector finds out about the breach. Remember that just in case of an accidental turn on of that main goes directly to the grid, and the 120 or 240 volts is in turn transformed back to the original source through the same transformers that transformed from 4000 or 10,000 volts, this could be lethal to a lineman working to restore power back to you" Kaysmith that happened about 35-40 years ago in Indiana. An ice storm tore down many miles of lines, a farmer had a large genset to handle and cool his dairy farm. He simply disconnected the main breaker, started his genset and blissfully continued his operation. When a lineman discovered live wires from back-feeding he shorted them with a chain. Naturally this ruined the farmers genset and he complained to the utility company. The utility company took legal action, resulting in the farmer losing his farm and entire dairy operation. -

I agree with kaypsmith, make sure everything else is working properly, including the house battery bank, before replacing the inverter.

I''ll say that qualifies as no trailer brakes required. Backing is gonna require a special skill-set.

I agree with Carl, only the owners manual has the correct information. It's usually under "recreational towing".
