  1. I just renewed online via the FMCA website. It offered a 10% discount coupon for renewing my membership, however the coupon states it expired 12-31-18. What's up with that?

Yup, you want the cheapest, easiest to replace part to be the first to break. Not much logic in installing a $3 bolt that will cause a $100 gearbox to fail instead.
  3. Last year when I was tire shopping I was quoted the same price, $203 ea. for Firestone FS560 LR L, and Sailun truck tires LR H. Further discussion with the shop revealed the Firestone FS560, or FS561-can't remember which, was replaced by the other; thus the great pricing on those Firestone LR L tires. I bought Sailun because I assumed the LR L would make a harsh riding tire on a MH that came with LR G.
  4. Guess I should have included that I use an oil suction gun to remove about 1/2 the oil from the reservoir after removing the top cover.
  5. My pump will not prime if the faucets are closed with air in the lines.
  6. You might change the oil filters inside the reservoir. Just remove enough oil to change the filters, then refill with fresh oil as specified. The only reason to change all the oil is if it is obviously contaminated per mfgr. of the hyd system.
  7. Thanks again to Tireman9 for posting. I did quite a bit of research before buying Sailun tires last year. They are high-quality made tires IMO. I know of no tire mfgr that has not issued a recall. This one BTW does not involve reliability or performance, it is a legal issue.
  8. Neat job Richard. I bought mine (white) from Amazon.
  9. Carl, Sailun moved their production of truck tires to Vietnam 2 years ago. My Sailun tires(date code 518) state "made in Vietnam" on the sidewall. Now they have formed a partnership with Cooper tires to produce Cooper truck and bus tires in Vietnam: https://www.moderntiredealer.com/tag/69290/sailun-vietnam
  10. Someone dropped the ball in Vietnam. Thanks for the heads-up!
  11. Armed with the data-plate information and the frame # you may locate a replacement motor easily. If you have an electric motor repair shop nearby they likely have or can obtain a new motor quickly.
  12. Wonder what the Yugo weighs?
  13. Indiana made the new drivers license mandatory in 2021, no exceptions. I got mine last year when the old one expired. In Northern border states the new license doubles as a passport card for ground travel between CA and the U.S.A for work.
  14. My is a Linda also, and yup she is always the one to walk to the fuel desk too. As to amount for pump shut-off. That is controlled by the CC processing company/clearing house at the direction of station local management. I once emailed Discover and asked this question. The reply was " to limit the amount of sales is counterproductive to our business goal, which is to make money". I printed that out and carried it with me for a few years. I would show it to desk clerks when they tried to tell me it was the CC setting the limit. Every time I got that deer in the headlights look in response.
  15. The dead-give-away is the big wrinkle at top front of the slide-room.
  16. It sounds like Ford has placed a large long-term bet on this engine. It is designed to fit into any vehicle with adequate space. It can be placed into a Mustang, full-size trucks and vans all they way to include the Ford F750.
  17. DW takes card inside and obtains pre-authorization, clerk turns on pump, I fill and pull ahead. By the time I get inside DW has bill paid and CC in hand waiting for me to go get a bite to eat.
  18. I received another email explaining the GS trip planner details. The trip software company tripled the monthly price to GS, thus the Mar 10 drop and eventual replacement. I'll probably stay with furkot.com for a trip planner.
  19. Ya'all talking about RV parks, on the escapees.com forums some guy asked which was the best CG in Texas. That should get lively very quick.
  20. Rather than welding, I would use the high-strength "glue" that''s advertised and sold at NAPA stores to fasten bolt heads to metal surfaces. I forget how much torque it withstands. High-amp welding currents can do strange things to electronics. Drilling N tapping the frame brings it's own set of problems and possible repercussions.
  21. Mr. Dan Ball, regrettably Bill is correct, your statement IMO, is a classic example of passing the buck. The tire program is your responsibility or FMCA would not support the webpage, this means it is also your responsibility to provide adequate information on the webpage for members to make an informed decision. I would never consider telling members they are on their own when looking at tires on my webpage. I bought a different brand tire for our MH simply because the FMCA webpage did not contain adequate information for me to make a decision. Michelins are waay overpriced, and the Hankook lack of information problem is the source of this thread. Compare the Continental tire information to Hankook and you see the problem. EDIT: Just tried to use the Michelin tire program again and it will not display tire sizes. I write this, not to be contentious, but rather to point out that service is the foundation of any business.
  22. Just received an email from GS telling me the trip planner ends Mar 10. OK, so far so good, but then they continue to explain they "hope" the new trip planner will be launched by the end of 2019?????? That sounds like someone has a bad case of ignorance. Wonder if they must attend some school to learn that lack of planning? Perhaps the good folks at FMCA who designed this new website could offer to help them out with planning, software design and coordinating old vs new website replacement dates.
  23. For an alternative to the old GS trip planner, check out https://trips.furkot.com/ The new GS trip planner might be quite good.
