  1. Thanks for the progress update Larry and Jason! Finding a software problem is not easy or fast, if it was, anyone could do the job; or so my daughter told me. I suspect Apple agrees - now.
  2. This is exactly like your auto air conditioner, only larger- with 45' hoses. When mine didn't work, I bought a tall can of refrigerant+ sealant at WalMart that has a gauge to show when the charge is adequate. I re-filled the system per instructions and haven't had that problem since, that was in 2013. Now the Evans valve has decided to stop shutting off the flow to the heater coils when using the A/C; have to set it on MAX cooling to get cold air.
  3. Do do you propose to prevent breaking the door glass? When an auto door is sprung you may lower the window to prevent breakage when returning it to normal, this is more complicated. Removing the window is safest IMO.
  4. I had good results from B.F.Goodrich T/A commercial tires on my dually; I figured if that's what UPS has on their delivery trucks they are good enough for me. Unless your Class C is overweight, It might pay to contact Michelin directly and inquire about the tire failures and body damage, sure can't hurt.
  5. The HWH online technicial school is a great resource to bookmark or open the pdf and download.
  6. That game was not fancy, clean, or pretty, the down in the trenches defense could have won the game-for either team. I love watching defense work, and I got an excellent dose.My ideal of a great football game ends with a score of 3 -0, and this one was close to that. Both head coaches are outstanding, they executed what I call offensive defense; they didn't wait to react to the other teams offense, the defense proactively executed their defensive to prevent the offense from executing their plan- for many plays. The only downside was the uninspiring commercials and lackluster half-time; and the 5 hours involved.
  7. re: Carlsbad RV parking. We parked the 5er at an RV park in town and drove the dually to the cave. Use Google maps to view space to park your rig at the cave, I can't remember.
  8. Right, I was responding to your comment about CA 199. US 101, IMO is not a bad road to drive, we did with our dually and 5er easily, the key is forget the word "time".
  9. It just occurred to me, the requirements may be included in the innkeepers regulations enacted at state level. This gives some insight into the innkeepers liability, RV parks fall under the regulations in most states. https://scholarship.law.nd.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=4407&context=ndlr That's one example, use your search engine to find for any state.
  10. WOW! in 2014 we took the long ferry to NS- short ferry back, and the ferry to PEI -bridge back. Our total cost for the S.M.A.R.T Maritimes caravan was $7,xxx for 6 weeks, which included CG's about 2 meals a week and attractions.. Prices must have skyrocketed.
  11. At the time we had a Chevy dually towing a 40' 5er, driving the 299 from Redding (I 5) to just North of Eureka to join the 101 North. I took me about 6 hrs, and several pull-offs to allow traffic to pass. Some curves required me to take up the entire paved road. Once was enough, I think 30 was was my fastest speed.
  12. Plan your route to the border crossing from NC, then use one of these, your beginning point will then be the border crossing. Canada Google Map- driving directions MapQuest -Canada routes
  13. I want to head South but DW can't travel long distances well, and has Feb. planned for me; painting the interior of our house and remodeling the basement. I'm about 90 miles from Bremen. As to BBQing, I doubt I could get the grill hot enough in this weather, wind chill forecast to be -17° tomorrow.
  14. You only pay one fee to enter and exit PEI.https://confederationbridge.com/tolls-fees/tolls-fees.html View the NS (the Royal Tattoo is a must see) and PEI visitors guides for a wealth of things to do and see. IMO they are the most friendly people in North America.
  15. Nova Scotia campgrounds IN 2014 our SMART caravan stayed at 7 CG's in Nova Scotia, none were bad IMO. IMO the best oceanfront CG was Cove oceanfront campground at Parkers Cove, NS. FWIW there is a large Lobster factory about 1/2 mile walk from the CG. We made the walk 3X the 3 days we stayed there. The fishery had a live 16# lobster when we were there buying lobsters. EDIT: I almost forgot the lobster factory will even boil them for you if you wish. EDIT #2: Roger Moore- 007 on irv2.com has a thread about previously leading caravans to the Canadian Maritimes if you wish to read his information.
  16. That is exactly the way Kiwkee steps operate; https://www.rvtechlibrary.com/exterior/kwikee_svc_manual.pdf This video may help too: https://vimeo.com/45602427
  17. I've been following your thread off and on, what were the individual hydrometer test results for each battery cell? It's virtually impossible to accurately know when they are all connected. re: the steps, the Kwikee service manual may be helpful: https://www.rvtechlibrary.com/exterior/kwikee_svc_manual.pdf Also, this troubleshooting video may also help: https://vimeo.com/45602427
  18. Wayne, you're invited to a cook-out at my house this coming Wed., I put the liner in my OD field jacket - so bring a jacket, the high is supposed to be 2°F; up from the low early Wed. morning of -10°. You might want to leave early, as it's ~1,300 miles to S. Indiana. 😎 I'll try to notify you if the 20# LP cylinder will not vaporize fast enough to keep the grill burning. OH, I do have a place to park a 45' MH W/ 30A electric beside the house.
  19. We've only driven the 101 in Oregon(marked as safe for commercial truck travel) and down to the Redwoods in N. CA. A great Oregon RV resort to stay in is seaperchresort.com, It''s about 5 miles South of Yahats OR.

    Firestone FS561

Last summer when I had Sailun truck tires put on our MH, I had the choice of Sailun or Firestone truck tires for the same price. The Firestones were the same price as the Sailuns because the Firestone was a discontinued model, I forget if the model was FS561 or FS562, one replaced the other. A call to a Firestone truck tire dealer would answer the question. A side note, Bridgestone owns Firestone: https://commercial.firestone.com/en-us/truck-and-bus
  21. There are several CG's in the Olympic national forest. Go to the NP website to read all about them, length limits, amenities, length of stay, etc. I only remember 2 private CG's on the peninsula that are near the NF. It's been so long ago (2012) if I did remember it is out-o-date.
  22. That's what HWH says in their FAQ webpage.

    340 hp 6.7 L

For comparison; I have the MH in my signature, GVWR is 31,000lb. The Cummins 8.3L ISC has 350 HP and 1,075 lb/ft torque. I flat-tow a 2013 Chevy silverado that weighs approx. 5,400lb empty. I average 7.3 mpg. I slow to around 40-45 mph on hills like Mt. Eagle if nothing breaks my momentum. Compare the HP to weight ratio for coach only, which should be 1HP to 100# as a minimum for satisfactory performance. IMO, that MH with ISB engine will do the job, but for me would be frustrating in mountains, and interstate on-ramps.
  24. We usually spend the winter at an Encore RV resort (Gulf Air RV resort in Ft. Myers beach FL). They have never requested a copy of anything, I did have to show my DL the first time we stayed there though. I would contact their HQ directly with your concerns: https://rvonthego.com/about-us/contact-us and be specific.
  25. I located a 2010 Fleetwood Expedition before we bought this MH. It was totally rebuilt and appeared "as-new". Checked with my ins. company and they declined to offer coverage; they referred me to a different/unknown to me ins. company who quoted a horrific price IMO. Never again will I consider buying any rebuilt vehicle.
