I have a 2008 Tiffin Phaeton with a Cummins ICS 360 and need to replace both 12V chassis start-up batteries. The batteries that were in it when we purchased it in 2012, was Staab name brand with 700 CCA. I always thought these underperformed because I could never get the 10K genset started on the first attempt, but that’s a different story all together. (Part of that problem was a White-Rogers solenoid valve was improperly mounted horizontally instead of vertically from the factory! It took me 4 years to resolve that issue, thanks to Cummins Mid-South in Fenton, MO.) Yesterday, I went to O’Reilys to get 2 Super Start batteries (AGM) that had 950 CCA. Perfect! The genset started on the first try. Of course it’s like 90 degrees outside too! MY PROBLEM, is I need to go back to the deep-cell fill type acid batteries because I CANNOT mix battery types with my BatteryMINDER, MODEL NUMBER 12112. I was going to get a different BatteryMINDER to fix this issue but the quicker solution is to take these nice batteries back and get the fill-type, which they don’t have! UGH! WHAT IS A GOOD CHOICE (NAME BRAND) AND CCA FOR START-UP BATTERIES FOR MY RIG? I like INTERSTATE, which is what my coach batteries are. Thanks!

Hi- I have a 2018 Dynamax Forest River REV 24 TB, with a 2015 Ram ProMaster Chassis gasoline 280 HP 3.6L V6 with 6-Speed Automatic and Overdrive. It came with a 1 5/8" hitch! It seems my only option for a two inch hitch, is a Hidden Hitch, but the exterior width of the RV is 92". Haven't found one that long. The dealer I bought the from, just said go to Forest River, and they sent me to Dynamax.I have a Genuine Buddy Scooter 50cc weighs 198 lbs and I'm looking at getting the Tilt-a-Rack weight capacity 400 lbs. to load and carry it. 46-58 lbs, so 257 lbs total.Suggests on what type of hidden hitch should I get? When I asked Dynamax they did not say anything about adding a Hidden Hitch - "Dynamax emailing you to let you know that would advise against adding a carrying rack for your scooter on the rear of your unit. Our general manager here at Dynamax has informed me that the Promaster is a pretty lightweight chassis and the current tongue weight rating is only 200lbs. The scooter and ramp alone would exceed that rated weight and it would be dead weight i.e. bouncing when you hit bumps, etc.. What we would recommend is a front mounted device as there is more weight available on the front axle that the rear. I am not sure if they make that, but with all the cargo in the rear, additional weight would push the limits of that rear axle." So has anyone else put on a hidden hitch? I asked a Etrailier.com Expert and this was his response, "We don't have any front hitches for your chassis. Only rear hitches like the part # 75882 which have quite a bit of capacity, but if you have RV I can't guarantee this would fit without issue." https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Draw-Tite/75882.htmlAny advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’m hoping that someone out there has had this experience before and can help me understand what might be going on. For the past year now, I’ve noticed that as we encounter small bumps in rest area pullouts, camp grounds, or any other place where the road surface isn’t as smooth as it could be, that the generator framework that supports the generator makes clunking noises. It sounds much as if one of the shock absorbers is loose, but I’ve had them checked several times and that’s not it. I suspect that the heavy duty rollers on the framework that holds the generator up are loose. In just the last week while traveling through New Mexico and Colorado along Interstate 25 the mysterious noise has gotten much more prevalent, and, the front cover that meets the front cap of our motorhome is now dropped down on the passenger side by about ¼”. This is not good. So can anyone who has had this sort of thing happen on their motorhome or knows what might be going on give me some guidance? I’d certainly appreciate it. Thanks, Rick

We just purchased a 2000 Itasca Horizon DP from Campingworld, on an as is basis, and are looking for a reputable company in the Atlanta area to go through the chassis to check brakes, hoses, belts, and other assorted chassis items that should be inspected. Campingworld had little desire to conduct the inspection on the non coach items Please advise any experiences that you may have had Thank you Peter and Peggy

Trying to plan where to go, and what goals to include in 2014 travel plans. We are 1 yr owners of a 36' DP, Freightliner chassis. Prior RV was a C, gasser. Freightliner has a "camp" program at their HQ. Since we are new to Class A, and new to DP, would like to hear from others on this forum: - have you attended Freightliner's "camp" program? - where did you park MH while at "camp"? - is this something worthwhile for both spouses to enroll? - route suggestions departing Indpls to Freightliner's HQ? THanks so much for all advice, tips, & info for us newbies!

HELP!! We have a 2004 Meridian (diesel) with Workhorse Chassis. The dashboard has completely failed, i.e. none of the gauges work. We had been told that an outfit in Indiana could fix it - that turned out to be a hoax and a rebuilt replacement has also failed. Is there anyone who has any advice?

My coach rolls from side to side when I enter and exit gas stations and also when I make tight turns. I only had this coach a little over 4 months. Don't know if this is normal or a common thing or if I should look into some air bags helper springs or shocks any feed back will be appreciated. It has a Henderson’s rear track bar installed on it. Thanks, Joe

I noticed during a check of the front suspension that my tie rod end boots were tattered. There was lots of grease around them, fortunately. On the advice of MH owner friends, I just dropped my tie rod, glued on universal boots purchased for $8 from the auto parts store. It required a Pittman Arm Puller, the larger size, loaned from the store. And, an impact wrench was required to break loose the castellated nut, re-torque it to the specified 250 in lbs setting. The new boot doesn't have the stiff ring molded into the upper edge, but has a thicker wall than the notoriously flimsy stock items. According to Spartan, if the boot has been broken for an unknown period, the tie rod end must be replaced. Their technical manuals have specifications for assessing wear that necessitates replacement. Since mine were both tight and encased in grease; so, I repacked them, and returned to service. I just came in from a test drive minutes ago, and all seems well. Pictures are at my online Picasaweb album HERE.

Has anyone used SilverLeaf Electronics Computer Interface to monitor real-time engine data? My factory analog gauges do not appear to be reliable. Any suggestions to utilize SilverLeaf for a Cat Diesel Engine?

My unit is a National Seabreeze (2007). After having my batteries out of the unit for the winter, they were charged and reinstalled. Power to the coach is good, however there is no power to the chassis. The thermal circuit breakers at the battery cable connections are functioning properly. Any ideas????? Don
