The Fishing Bridge campground opens May 5th and is the only park that will handle an RV over 35'. You can get a lot of information about other sites available and when they open here http://www.yellowstonenationalparklodges.com/lodging/camping/ Camping outside the park during that time of year should not be an issue at all. Look at the park website. https://www.nps.gov/yell/index.htm I tend to stay outside the park. This last summer we stayed on 20 outside of West Yellowstone because we were doing some stuff in that area.
