Battery Boost Switch Inoperative With Dead Chassis Battery

Recommended Posts

At one time house and coach batteries in my 2014 Thor 30.1 were connected all the time causing the coach battery to go dead when dry camping. Now they are not but if the coach battery goes dead and the house batteries are charged the emergency start switch does nor connect.

Has anyone had a problem like this?

Its probably not wired correctly.  The power for the emergency switch must come from the house batteries to energize the solenoid.  If the switch come from the chassis batteries and they are too low on charge the solenoid will not energize.

Dan,

Welcome to the FMCA Forum. As desertdeals69 said, if the battery wired to the boost/emergency start switch is too low to close the solenoid it will not work. It will likely be pretty easy to re-wire the switch to the other battery bank as most coaches have both chassis and house battery powered items up front.
