alanito2017 Report post Posted August 23, 2017 I bought a used motorhome that has new Optima Blue Tops for the house. Do I set the Magnum charger batter type as AGM 1 or AGM 2? What is the difference between the 2 types of charger settings?
dkreuzen Report post Posted August 23, 2017 In my manual it states: Quote Battery Type (GEL, Flooded, AGM1, or AGM2) – When the battery type selection is GEL (for Gel batteries), Flooded (for liquid lead acid batteries), AGM1 (for Lifeline AGM batteries), or AGM2 (for East Penn/ Deka/Discover/Trojan AGM batteries), the charge voltage level for the Absorption, Float, and EQ Charge modes are fi xed and shown in Table 3-1—depending on the battery type selected and the nominal inverter battery voltage. I would call Magnum to find out what you should set it to.
wolfe10 Report post Posted August 23, 2017 Another option is to copy the charging voltages for each step (bulk, absorption and float) and call you battery manufacturer to see which one is a closer fit to their charging algorithms.
