Martasing Report post Posted November 25, 2017 I am a newbie to the site and currently in process of changing all the bulbs within and on the outside of our coach over to LED. Has anyone experienced problems with swapping the tail lights turn lights and brake lights over to LED? Will I need to change the flasher under the dash? Thankyou. Cary S. kaypsmith Report post Posted November 25, 2017 If it has not already been changed to electronic you will. Simply check the number and make sure that it is electronic, if not, you will need to change it out, otherwise there is not enough heat generated for the flasher to flash. With it being 2003, possibility is real good that it came from the factory with electronic. Welcome to the forum, many happy trails. Don't forget to check the emergency flasher also, most cases it is separate from turn signals.
dickandlois Report post Posted November 25, 2017 Cary. Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Most of the OEM wiring will work fine. There can be an issue with the Turn signal, brake and marker lights talking to each other. When you apply the brakes other lights may come on, When you energize the turn signals or 4 ways other lights might flash. Some replacement LED assemblies come with Blocking / Steering Diodes built into them. If you want to use the OEM light fixtures for the above mentioned circuits, you will need to install diodes at each fixture for the Turn, 4 way, brake lights and marker lights. The change out to LED's inside should not be an issue. Its the little things that get you. LED's are polarity sensitive, but many of the more expensive ones have circuits built into them that solves that issue. Not sure, just ask questions - some real good people on the forum that can answer most if not all of them ! Rich.
