24theRDjoy Report post Posted December 13, 2018 We had our a/c worked on for the dash and we just got it back but now our dash vents don't have any air coming out of them. When you turn the fan on you can hear it running and you can hear it switch from lo to hi. Hubby reached up under the dash and if he physically opens the gates then air blows through the vents but gates won't stay open or switch from defrost vents to dash vents on their own, they stay shut and hubby says they are really hard to open. Any ideas on how to fix this??? Thank you in advance for any help, Barbara
hermanmullins Report post Posted December 13, 2018 Barbara, Welcome to the Forum. It would help if you would post the make, model length and year of your coach. But as a start, since your husband was able to reach up and move the door lever coule he also feel if there is a hose connected to the back of the actuator that operates the level. It may be as simple as a loose or disconnected vacuum hose. Or if it is manual (a wire or cable) operation the wire or cable may be off. Either way if you could post the information on your coach someone with the same unit my have a solution. Glad to have you on the Forum, Herman
wolfe10 Report post Posted December 13, 2018 24theRDjoy, Yes, welcome to the FMCA Forum. Sounds like a loss of vacuum. When you tell us what you are driving (basic question gas or diesel) we will be able to guide you to tracing down lack of vacuum (separate 12 VDC vacuum pump on diesel vs engine produced vacuum on gasoline. Default position with no vacuum is defrost vents.
