rlball48 Report post Posted July 19, 2019 I have a 2006 Forest River Lexington mounted on a Ford F450 chassis with the V10 engine. It is 26 feet long and has 48k miles. If the road is smooth the ride is smooth, but with the current condition of most roads it feels like you are riding on the frame. What would be the best shocks to put on this unit to smooth out the ride? Thank you, RB

rayin Report post Posted July 19, 2019 Remember, that is a truck chassis modified to build a MH coach on, it will ride like a truck. Shocks do not soften the ride, they are designed to keep the wheels in contact with the road and reduce the bouncing/rebound affect. Unless you already have, look up your tire brand load/inflation chart and adjust air pressure accordingly. The air pressure shown is the minimum to support the corresponding load, add 10% to be safe.http://www.rvtiresafety.net/search/label/Minimum Inflation
wolfe10 Report post Posted July 19, 2019 Comment: Shocks CAN/DO contribute to ride harshness if they offer dampening on COMPRESSION. Yes, there are shocks that do the vast majority of their dampening on EXTENSION, so ride is softer, yet control is good.
