Jreff Report post Posted March 7, 2021 I have a 2012 Ford Edge V6. The Owner's Manual says that I can flat tow on page 232. It says to put the car in neutral and the key in acc position. Won't that run down the battery?
hermanmullins Report post Posted March 8, 2021 Jreff, Welcome to the Forum. Yes it can discharge your your battery. Some folks stop every 2 to 3 hours and start the tow vehicle. Or you can install a charge line between your RV and tow vehicle. Hope this helps, and again Welcome. Herman
wildebill308 Report post Posted March 8, 2021 Yes it will. By the way welcome to the forum. You can do a couple of things like run a charge line to keep the battery up or start the car when you stop for a break or lunch. That is what I do with my CR-V. I haven't had a problem with the battery going dead if I do start and run it. The auxiliary brake system also puts a drain on the battery. Bill
