jrwgolfer Report post Posted June 10, 2010 We're looking for some help with leveling our motorhome before extending the slideouts. I have seen it done both ways. We will be traveling and staying at casino parking lots some nights and Wal-Marts other nights while on the way to our destination. We have a 2004 Monaco LaPalma on the Workhorse chassis. Thanks for your help!!! Jon
rossboyer Report post Posted June 10, 2010 First, I would have to say, "Whatever the owners manual says." But I have always leveled and then extended the slides. To leave, I retract slides and then raise jacks. You mentioned using parking lots for most of your trip. Please use large blocks to protect the asphalt that most lots use. Additionally, only extend slides if they will not bother other parkers or drivers. When parking in a lot like this, I try to not use my jacks at all by parking slightly downhill or at least so that my head will be higher than my feet. If you can park on the perimeter so that your slides are over a grass area, they should not bother anyone. Safe travels, RWB

There are coaches/chassis designed to be leveled first and those designed to have the slides extended first. Please follow the instructions in your owners manual or contact Monaco for the proper order for YOUR coach.
