paulmadrid2 Report post Posted December 25, 2021 I'm currently on a trip and while at the campsite I was inside fooling around the kitchen when I heard a loud bang. I thought something fell on us, but when I went out to look, the bedroom slide topper was completely unwound and there is no tension on the roller. Any body out there ever experience this? I know I'm going to have to roll it up by hand and secure it to get home, but for the spring just to let go has me wondering. Thanks in advance, Paul
hermanmullins Report post Posted December 25, 2021 Yes Paul, that would be you best option. It appear that your spring either broke or slipped in the tube. Roll it up and secure it as best as you can when you have retracted the slide and don't put the slide out till you have it repaired. Sorry about your problem but thank goodness your are not stranded. Good Luck, Herman
moonwink Report post Posted December 26, 2021 You might be able to find a YouTube video to help you replace the spring and tension it. Not knowing the brand of your slide topper there's no a lot more anyone can offer in the way of help.
