Atwood ge16ext water heater

Recommended Posts

Water in heater plenty hot. Just getting tepid water in discovery 08. Thought it was checkalve but now I am not sure it has one.  It does have a mixing valve and think the screens might be clogged. Just looking for a heads up before I decide if I can fix it or have a repair done.

On this parts list #18 is the mixing valve. If the  eco-thermostat is allowing the water temperature to reach 130-140°F it is working OK, if the water temperature, as measured when draining a bit into a cup already  containing a thermometer is lower than  120-130°, the thermostat should first be checked to insure it is lying flat against the tank, otherwise it should be replaced.

These are all DIY projects, just take care not to get scalded.
