Florida 2 Quartzsite AZ

Question

Hi everyone my name is Rich and I am a newbie on FMCA. I was wondering if anyone From Florida might be heading to Quartzsite AZ after Christmas as I would like to tag along with some rather than travel alone.

I am not, but you might want to clarify how you mean "tag along". I  assume you mean follow/caravan not hop in and ride with, but the ambiguity may scare some people from responding.  😉

Either way, happy travels!

Hi Bill, Thank you for the reply, I havent joined up with any chapter yet but I did recieve a few emails when I first joined from some Florida chapters that mostly travel around Florida.  My wife and I are interested in visiting some of the  National Parks, Yuma AZ, Lake Havasue City AZ, San Diego CA ( USS Midway CV41)( I served on her during Vietnam War) and last but not least Visit the Pacif Coast Highway. God willing we will have some good years ahead of us to travel after working for 50 years and meet alot of great people along the way.

Sounds like fun. Do you have your Senior Passes? A lifetime pass only cost $80.00. https://store.usgs.gov/lifetime-senior-pass. It covers everyone in your car. Use the NPS web site to plan your trips to parks. https://www.nps.gov/index.htm. They have apps for your phone. You can check any restrictions on entering the parks and check weather conditions.

Yes I know The USS Midway CV41. We got a tour last year when we went to a AIM rally in San Diego. Higley recommend going to the San Diego Zoo for a visit.

One more thought. The National Parks Passport program is a great way to track your adventures as you explore the over 400 units of the National Park Service. Purchase your passport book at the first park visitor center or https://americasnationalparks.org/passport-to-your-national-parks/

Hi Bill, we do have Harvest Hosts and Gold Star / Veteran lifetime pass for free.  We were not aware of the passport program but will definitely make that happen. Glad to see that you were able to visit Midway awesome ship and was proud to have served  on her. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Frequent_Wind

Thank you for your input.

Yes the Midway is a great ship and thank you for your service.

Something else you should look at  Passport America. It is a program for campgrounds to fill slow times and attract visitors  . You can save 50% on the regular nightly rate.

I had that before but didnt travel enough in our RV to use it as we own a trucking company in Maine and we were always working but things have changed and we will take another look at it. Thank you so much for all your great advise ☺️.
