Recommended Posts

First time other than CA, AZ, OR, and WA.

Going east to Branson then Colorado Springs area. Usually do all my research on line before I go but looking for any additional help at the Branson and Colorado locations for parks for 4-5 day stays. Monaco 40ft with tow.

If you like being on a lake or fishing, Table Rock State park is great. We spent about 10 days there. They have full hookups available.

We have also found Branson Stagecoach RV Park to be an excellent base for the lake and attending shows in Branson. They also offer a free show shuttle.

Hope this gives you a starting point.

In Colorado Springs, you might want to stay at the Mountaindale campground:

It's a little outside of town, but very clean, quiet, and the managers are very friendly. The Rocky Mountain Chapter has stayed here before.

Also check out Garden of the Gods, and if you have young kids, they might enjoy Santas Workshop (open all year).

Couple years ago we came west from Iowa (after picking up our coach) and spent almost a week in Colorado Springs. We were there for nephew's graduation from Air Force Academy and then wedding to a cadet 3 days later. It was sort of a family reunion time.

We stayed at Garden of the Gods RV Park. It was very nice and very clean, but a little more expensive that usual for us. We tend to be state park folks, sometimes KOA. There are some nice state parks nearby. Garden of the Gods has a breakfast many mornings and it is very reasonable. Local bus stops nearby and we rode it downtown and to old Colorado City. I would highly recommend Garden of the Gods.

We spent a week last year at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs. It is a beautiful, new campground offering fullhookups for $30 a night. We visited Garden of the Gods, the Olympic training center as well as Pikes Peak from it. We've never been to Branson but have been told to stay at America's Best Campground when we go by our club.

I would also recommend using www.rvparkreviews.com - the reviews are done by campers and I have found them to be spot on! Another great resource for planning prior to arriving is Yelp.com - again, the reviews are done by users and it has never let me down when visiting a new area!
