smalexander Report post Posted December 1, 2010 SCS Coach Step works intermittently MH is a 2008 Damon Astoria. For the last year, i.e., right out of warranty, the coach entry step fails to retract or fails to extend. This is an intermittent problem. I have checked to assure that nothing is binding in the extend or retract cycle. At times the step light (below the step) will blink during operation, other times it is on. Any ideas of what is broken? Steve of Gilroy 2008 Damon Astoria 3786 2000 Toyota Avalon Toad
vtbigdog Report post Posted December 1, 2010 Sounds like the fuse is OK if the light is working intermittently. Is the step making any clicking noises? Have you lubricated the step according to the manual with the proper lubricant? Do you have a switch in the coach that turns off the action of the step? If it is not making any noises, I would check this switch. I would also check the magnetic switch in the door jamb. Maybe the magnet is no longer alighted or fell out. Another test....close the door and turn on the ignition switch on your coach. Then open the door to see if the step works. When the ignition switch is on, the wall switch operation is bypassed. If the step still does not work, you can rule out the wall switch and concentrate on the magnetic switch on the door jamb. Keep us posted.
