Traveling To Montgomery AL

We are heading to Stone Mountain Georgia from central Florida. Our planned route will take us to Tallahassee the Destin area-Montgomery Al. and Chattanooga Tenn. Any info on campgrounds and places to see along the way would be appreciated.

From Florida to Stone Mtn via Chattanooga will be about 9 days.

There is a Passport America park on West South Boulevard and I-65 (south west side of Montgomery). I don't recall the park's name, but you can Google Passport America for information. The park gives the PA discount through the week only. Sites are level and the park is clean. They have some permanent residents. It has always seemed to be a good park for a safe stay. It is in a good location for seeing sites in Montgomery.

Capital City RV Park is on the NE corner of Montgomery, AL. We stayed there a couple of nights this last April and were very happy with the park. I'd give it a 9 out of 10. Clean, cement patios w/ round glass topped tables, and a very large fenced-in dog park is a plus for our Maggie. Good travels.

There is a neat Corps of Engineers park ( Gunter Hill ) which is a short way down US81 West of I-65.
