gksmith Report post Posted December 14, 2011 The odometer on my 98 Newmar Dutchstar blinks constantly and is only rarely readable. The coach is powered by a 300 HP Cummins and has a 6 speed Allison transmission. The speedometer part works fine. Anybody know what could be causing this and whats the remedy? Thanks! GK Smith F399703 What chassis? My first call would be to your chassis maker, as they usually wire the gauge package. An alternative if you can determine the brand of gauge (such as VDO) is to contact them directly. Brett
hermanmullins Report post Posted December 14, 2011 GK Smith, Welcome to the Forum. As Brett said check with the maker of the gauge. Yours will be an electric gauge and if I understand them, they record mileage from the same source as the speedometer. It sounds as if there is a problem with the odometer led or lcd. The gauges in my Monaco are Beede and you can google them. If you have the owners packet for your coach there may be a chart of all parts purchased and who the vendor was.
