I am looking for anyone who has any history with the Dometic Sidewise Refrigerator. I have heard mixed reviews and would like input before making a decision.

Yes it is the NDA1402 model that is not made anymore. There are some good buys on new ones that are still in stock but I have heard mixed reviews. I was wanting to hear from anyeone who might have some input good or bad.

This is the one that we are looking at. We are replacing an 8 year old Norcold 1200.

I have the NDA 1402. If you can still get one...do it. The only problem we have had is that the plastic drain hose in the back had to be replaced. It has water/ice (cubed or crushed), auto defrost and digital controls.

We found the Dometic NDA1402 on sale at PPL RV in Houston. Four to Five days after purchasing the price of the unit was dropped another $800.00. I called them about this and was told by the parts manager that there was nothing she could do about refunding any of the original purchase price even though we had not yet received the unit. After talking to Diana LeBlanc and Adam in upper management about the situation the full difference in price is going to be refunded. These two completely understood where we were coming from in thinking we should be able to get the lower price without having to return the original purchase and then repurchase the refrigerator. We are very happy about the way this was handled by upper managment and would highly recommend doing business with them. We will undoubtly do business with again.

To the original poster, replace the plastic line with the appropriately sized copper line before you install the fridge as the plastic line will crack and require partial removal of the fridge later.

Good advice. On our AC, the screws came out easily, but they had siliconed the bottom of the refer. It was very hard to break the silicone loose so the refer would slide into the coach which is required to get to the drain line.
