steverud Report post Posted May 4, 2012 I have 2002 Airstream Land Yacht on a Workhorse chassis. It has a 75 gallon fuel tank. When fueling the pump always shuts off before the last 20 or so gallons are in. It then takes me 15 minutes or more to top off the tank. I'm sure it's a venting problem but how do I solve it? wolfe10 Report post Posted May 4, 2012 Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Start by crawling under and verifying that there is no sag in either the fill or vent line between side of coach and tank. If there is, let us know and we can tell you how to eliminate it. Said another way, both lines should progress downhill with NO uphill sections between side and tank. five Report post Posted May 5, 2012 This is a tyical problem, normally caused by the diesel foaming. Assuming my coach is not way off level, I crack the off side filler cap, and when the tank is almost full (you can hear it), I slow the flow rate way down. Usually it dribbles out the off side before the side I'm filling on. If you want to fill it all the way, it takes a while, just barely flowing in, letting the foam subside, and repeating the process.
