tomcypress Report post Posted June 29, 2012 I have found the best way to clean black water tanks is to run water from your hose through your bath window, take your window screen out, disconnect your water from the fresh water tank! let it run in your toilet for about five minutes! jrd4849 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 I use a spray wand designed for that purpose hooked up to a garden hose and inserted down through the toilet. Works very well as long as your toilet is sitting on top of the black tank.
jc21014 Report post Posted July 2, 2012 You might consider having one of these installed. The way you described is old style and cumbersome to say the least. http://www.campingwo...fuss-flush/3495
dickandlois Report post Posted July 2, 2012 We have from time to time put some ice(a bag full) in the black tank) when its recharged after dumping and we are going to drive fora few hrs. This has cleaned the bottom of the tank well as the ice slides around on the bottom of the tank. Also use a wand to get cleaned out after dumping between ice treatments. Rich. Due to the design of the tank and the placement of the flusher it doesn't do a good job. The wand is the only way to go for a thorough job.
