RVerOnTheMove Report post Posted September 5, 2012 If you are looking for long rides then this is an excellent location with lots of good roads (windy and otherwise). You will be close to Deadwood but nothing else in the way to tourist attractions. Depending upon what you want to do while you are there you might want to consider a campground closer to Mt. Rushmore, Custer, Crazy Horse (don't fall for it, the view from the road is just as good as the view past the $14/person gate) and the scenic drive whose name escapes me. We stayed at Heart Ranch in Rapid City and that's too far as well. In a previous visit we stayed at the Mt. Rushmore KOA and found it to be very convenient to all of the sights that we wanted to visit. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
hermanmullins Report post Posted September 5, 2012 There are several V Parks in Custer and one or two in Rapid City. Both close to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse.
