Pic of 2013 Sonic Pending Blue Ox Baseplate Arrival

Recommended Posts

Recently test drove the 2013 Sonic Sedan. Handled nice, good pickup for entering interstate. An impressive small vehicle.

Thinking about swapping the Liberty for the Sonic. No longer need the Lib's towing capacity.

According to the Owners Manual the LT 1.8L automatic is tow-able.

The RS or 1.4L is NOT.

It's the second year for the Sonic, hopefully, GM is not going to repeat the fiasco they had with the Cruze as a tow-able.

In order to install the Blue Ox base plate BX1703, the front has to be removed and the grill has to be cut out for the bracket to be fitted.

Available reviews for the 2012, are good.

Anyone Towing the 2013 Sonic Sedan?

Well, as it seems no one has any experience with the Sonic LTZ, guess I'll find out how it tows after i get it set up for towing.

It drives nice for a sub-compact with all the bells and whistles. I know I'll enjoy the gas mileage compared to the Jeep Liberty.

Won't be towing it until the end of December, so it gives me time to set it up.

The lower front fender and grill is removed and grill trimmed for the Blue Ox baseplate and removable tabs.

Texas Legal Tinted Windows makes for a cooler ride......
