Watman Report post Posted December 1, 2012 I have a 2004 Discovery with some 20 door latches that are faded to light grey. How best to get black again?
RVerOnTheMove Report post Posted December 1, 2012 New latches. If they are plastic and you are pretty handy you might try the new Krylon Fusion paints as they claim to work on plastics.
cmarq Report post Posted December 1, 2012 My 2003 Pace Arrow door latches were very faded when i bought it. I removed them and painted with Krylon Fusion for plastic. That was three years ago and they still look good, also did my side mirrors which were faded. Removal of the latches is easy, follow the cleaning instructions for best results, light coats work better than one heavy.
desertdeals69 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 The best product for that application is Forever Black. It has an applicator on the bottle which dispenses a small amount. You don't have to disassemble anything. It has a black pigment. I use it on everything black and it last a long time, like years. I use it on all the plastic parts on my Silverado. Much easier than paint and less mess and work.
