DALEDEVON@GMAIL.COM Report post Posted May 23, 2013 I did not get my tank drained, so I need to replace it. Can I buy a new one from Amazon, how do I know if it will fit. The one I have is LP. Any advice is appreciated.
wolfe10 Report post Posted May 23, 2013 Dale, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. First, please let us know what brand you have-- Atwood or Suburban? How old is it-- that will help determine if it is worth replacing just the tank or more reasonable to replace the whole heater.
DALEDEVON@GMAIL.COM Report post Posted May 23, 2013 It is an Atwood. Model g6a-6e. The Motor home is a 1990. It did work real well last year.
wolfe10 Report post Posted May 23, 2013 Your call, but with a 23 year old water heater, not sure it is worth buying just a tank. As with most things buying one piece by piece is a lot more expensive than buying a new complete unit.
DALEDEVON@GMAIL.COM Report post Posted May 23, 2013 I kind of figured on buying the whole thing, I was really trying to find the best, cheapest route to go.
kaypsmith Report post Posted May 24, 2013 I've had very good luck on e-bay, buying many RV items. Simple to type in RV water heater, and bam nearly always something shows up, some buy it now, some you can actually bid on. I built my coach, including buying the bus and nearly all of the parts this way, and saved a good deal of money that way. Good luck, Kay Smith
