wigginsjsr Report post Posted October 19, 2013 I have a 2011 Monaco Knight with Queen bed. I went to remove some items from the storage area under the bed yesterday and the front part of the bed broke loose from the wall. There is a 2X screwed to the wall and to each side support with a piano hinge that allows the plywood base to raise upward. That entire 2x and piano hinge has broken loose. Seems to me that there was so much leverage exerted when raised with the mattress pushing against the wall that the attachments gave way.Has anyone else had this problem? If so, any words of wisdom for permanent repair?
dickandlois Report post Posted October 20, 2013 Wounder if you could post 2 or 3 pictures of the area for the group. They use many different layouts when it comes to the structures they attach the hinge and lift supports, that pictures could help in getting a real view of the area. dives Report post Posted October 28, 2013 Same problem with 2005 HR Neptune. Reattached by adding many more screws to the 2x base and to piano hinge. After repairing attachment: When raising the bed, the mattress needs to be pulled back before raising bed in order to not create pressure on the attachment area. Also, had to reinforce the sagging plywood base with a 2x4 crosspiece.
