Need Ideas For Must Places To See-- Coast of CA Up To WA

Question

Hi, we are planning a trip from North Carolina to the western coast.

We have never taken our RV up the coast area and we are excited to plan our new adventure. We love the outdoors and definitely want to enjoy the environment seeing state and national parks. We would love to hear what others have enjoyed.

Looking forward to hearing from some other travelers,

We did the Oregon coast last summer and really enjoyed the jet boat ride up the Roque river out of gold beach, the casino in Coos Bay has a nice RV park,

Winchester bay has a nice park and a great tour of their light house, take a dune buggy ride in Florence and also see the seal caves.

The Tillamook cheese factory tour is a must they have the best ice cream.

In Astoria make sure you climb the tower and visit the coast guard museum. Astoria also has the best sea food in Oregon in my opinion.

We did the Oregon and Washington coast this past summer. Stayed at Thousand Trails campgrounds for 2 - 3 weeks each and they are about 100 miles or less apart. Many things to see and do.

Great thread!

This will be our first trip if/when we actually buy our MH as planned next year!

We've always loved the OR coast....all those places already mentioned with the addition of Yachats and Newport.

Their state parks are numerous and the coastline is very user-friendly.

Harris Beach State Park in Brookings just over the border from CA is lovely, reservations recommended, though we've stayed there and moved from spot to spot every night.

Newport has the best beaches for walking in my opinion, Beverly Beach State Park is in the trees but also has beach access and Newport has the best beaches . We love the seafood at Local Ocean, a fish market by day and a restaurant by night in the old part of town, right across from the fishing boats that bring in the fish. There is always a line and they don't take reservations. Totally worth it.

I'd like to know where to eat seafood in Astoria?
