popndelly Report post Posted March 5, 2014 We have a 2014 Winnebago Sightseer 33C with 50 amp service. Stopped at a state park with 30 amp. Tried plugging electrical cord to Surge protector, then 30 amp dog bone into power. Didn't work.Here is what Progressive Industries said would work: All you need to do is plug your RV into the SSP-50 and then put your 50 to 30 dogbone adapter on the male end of the SSP and plug into the 30 amp plug.Same thing we did. rossboyer Report post Posted March 5, 2014 When you say it didn't work, what did not work? Possibly you are being protected, and therefore, the power is not passing through. I have the same system and have used a 30 amp male to 50 amp female to connect our coach without any problems. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
kingfr Report post Posted March 6, 2014 The PI takes a little over 2 minutes to actually turn the power on to the coach after testing the incoming power. It seems like 5 minutes. I am plugged into a 30 amp circuit with a 50 AMP PI and a dog bone right now and it works as advertised. My PI is a permantly mounted unit inside the power compartment in my coach.
