wolfe10 Report post Posted February 15, 2015 Since it is turning over, the chances are high that this is a fuel issue. If you have a clear-bowl fuel filter, check for signs if dirt, water or air. First step would be to change the fuel filter. Could also be low fuel level in the tank, or hole in fuel line on the suction side. If older Cummins with electrically activated fuel solenoid, that would be something else to check.
mpierce Report post Posted March 4, 2015 Not sure about Cummins, but on the CAT, if you have a manual fuel primer hand pump, replace it. On my CAT C-15 semis, I have had several no start failures, that are fixed by replacing the hand pump. Everything seems fine, cranks good, but will not start. Just replaced one on a 2002 Peterbilt, $108, and you just remove two bolts, take the old one out, put the new one on, and put the bolts back in.
obedb Report post Posted April 22, 2015 If you have solved your problem by now please tell us what it was. I lost an ECM on a Series 60 Detroit once. The giveaway on that is no warning lights on attempted start. The dash is dead, but the engine stills turns over.
